Customer Review: Watch out for that plastic prong cover!

This is a fine product. It does what it is supposed to do. My zen charged in less than two hours. I had tried other usb chargers, even ones that said that they worked with Creative Zen products, and they didn't work. Watch out - just because something says that it FITS the Zen doesn't mean that it actually works with it.
I almost sent it back, however, out of my own ignorance. When the product arrived, there was a white plastic cover over the prongs. It is the same type of plastic that the product is made out of, and it blends very smoothly into the product. It is also firmly attached. It seems like the product arrives with big white plastic prongs that are obviously not going to work in the United States. In fact, it looks just like the black and white drawing of the Chinese plugs in the paperwork that arrives with the adapter. So I wrote the company, asking for an exchange. I got a reply back (within 24 hours) saying, "no, you got the right adapter. Just take off the cover, idiot." OK, they didn't really call me an idiot. I just felt like one. But, low and behold, the prong cover actually does come off and now I love my Zen even more than before.

Yes, I had to buy ANOTHER plug in module to charge one more electronic item. I have been looking at other alternatives, but Creative did something to their firmware that prohibits charging of the unit by other manufacturer plug in chargers. That said, there are times when computer access or battery power is limited and a plug in is necessary. for that reason, this is a useful item and a good buy. just make sure the connection is firm.
Once I used a motorola USB charger (same output voltage and amperage). all this did was wipe out my Zen (had to re format and reload software, music and videos. so no more of that. it was either usb ports or the ac plug.

I have purchased three other chargers in retail stores and ended up returning all of them because they would not charge my Zen. I finally ordered the actual Creative Labs product and it DOES charge my Zen.
The only thing I am unsure of yet, is if it will charge AND play at the same time. I have tried it and it seems to charge but I'm not sure if it really is charging. I rated it a 3 because it is quite a bit more expensive than other chargers in the market. If it ends up playing AND charging at the same time, I would rate it a 4. (PS - delivery was very prompt.)

This was a great charger while it lasted. It would charge my Zen very quickly like you would expect from a good charger. I also liked that you could listen to your Zen while it charged. Sadly, this product is very fragile. It fell onto a hard wood floor from about waist height and broke on contact and was not reparable. I expected this thing to last longer than it did. That sad story out of the way, this is a great charger if you can be gentle with it. Do not drop it or throw it around or you will easily break this great charger.Customer Review: Super fast charger

Trying to charge an mp3 player on a computer which does not have a hi speed usb port takes hours. With this charger I could charge the player in approximately 30-45 minutes. Understandably, there are many various chargers available, but the one fact that convinced me to purchase this charger was it works with Creative players. I really did not want to chance it with another manufacturer which may not have worked. Of course the beauty of a charger is it allows the player to be charged without the use of a computer.....
