Customer Review: NEVER buy Creative Again!

I will NEVER buy from Creative again! Trust me when I say, never buy from the website if you might return the product. I found a cheaper price from the Creative website (at the time) but after seeing so many negative reviews,I wanted to return it. I was told over the phone and through e-mail to just reject the package and it'll go back to Creative without paying a return fee... that was July 7th. It is now AUGUST 25th and I'm STILL trying to get a refund! I don't know if they think I'm going to give up on my refund but they are sadly mistaken. My Creative Zen V died after a year, that should have told me something. Creative products are great... when they work, which isn't for long. I got a SanDisk Sansa Fuze instead... and it still works!Customer Review: SONG DEGEN

I have had many problems with this player. First off if you let it die then you have to precharge it for like 30 mins till u are able to actually start charging it.
and the worst part is the song degen. Or in other words the song quality over time fails utterly.
Would u recommend it NO I would fork out the extra $$ and buy an Ipod
Sorry Creative but if they would make a better product I would be more inclined to give a better review.

I've been using the Creative Zen for about two weeks now and it is great, just like its predecessor. I miss the touch-sensitive slider of the Zen Vision M, but I love how petite the new Zen is. The Media Explorer software is, as before, easy to use. A good value, especially if you are not interested in turning yourself over to Apple and the iPods.Customer Review: Had it for a year - buyer beware!

Okay, here's the scoop on this player. It's an awesome player when it works. But it has a reputation for failing. I mean failing dead. Mine failed a week after the warranty ran out. I only used it when I traveled, so it was used maybe 20 times total.
Before you buy this player I suggest you Google "zen white screen." You will see a few pages (out of hundreds of thousands) claiming to have solutions. What you have to understand is that you will get the white screen that is fixable several times before you get the ultimate dead white screen.
The dead white screen is not fixable. When I contacted Creative they said the only solution was to replace the unit.
I should also mention that their technical support is outsourced to several different countries and creates some confusion when trying to solve a problem as a different person from a different country handles your ticket each time. The language barrier and lack of familiarity with your issue can be very frustrating.
When you read the Amazon reviews, note how long the reviewer has owned the unit. They are great for a while, but have a nasty habit of just dying.

Much better than iPods because it has a bigger screen so that you can enjoy videos, plus, it is made for exercising such that the internal system will not be damaged if you take it for a jog, walk with it, or just use it while driving on a bumpy road. iPods with larger screens are not designed for exercising and thus are more likely to fail in these contexts.
