This review is for the non zoom version...The Vado is an awesome product which makes recording those special moments and even the not so special moments convenient and a breeze. I also use it for working with my boys baseball swing. The Vado is awesome for that.The built in software allows me to break down the video screen by screen to really see what is going on and it is a breeze to use. Simply plug it into your computer and everything comes up automatically. This product is a 10!Customer Review: Left out in the rain 4 times and still works!!!

I decided on this recorder as a less expensive alternative to the Flip Ultra as a gift for my irresponsible (as it turns out) 11 year old son. He absolutely loves it, and it performs every bit as well as my own Flip Ultra at a lower price point. What has impressed me the most, though, is its durability. He has left this device out, overnight and IN THE RAIN, 4 times now, and it has come back to life every time as soon as it dried out. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!Customer Review: Okay, but not as good as a digital camera's video.

I purchased this as an easy alternative to larger video cameras. I was really looking at the Flip, but the price on this one was better, and I thought it would probably be good enough. But I was not happy with the Vado. The video quality is fair, at best. The zoom is very poor and really not even worth using. The playback on the Vado itself has very poor sound quality, but when uploaded to the computer, it is somewhat better. At my daughter's recent concert, my sister used her regular digital camera (not a camcornder, just a point & shoot camera) to video tape it, and I used the Vado. My sister's camera did a much better job than the Vado. Her sound quality was better, the picture crisper and clearer than the Vado. And since the room was somewhat dark, the Vado's picture was very dark and fuzzy. My sister's camera captured my daughter perfectly in the spotlight. I was disappointed with the Vado. It's okay as a small, handy video cam, but I think the video feature that most digital cameras have these days is just as good or better. Not sure it's worth the money to buy something like this. On the plus side, though, it is very easy to use and very small -- easy to carry around.Customer Review: great grooms men gift

I bought them as grooms mens gifts for my wedding. Everybody really liked them and the video quality is much better than I expected. I was trying to figure out if I wanted these or the FLiP and am very happy I chose these.
