Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Creative Inspire T3030 2.1 Speaker System ( 51MF0315AA002 )Customer Review: Technical Theatre Student Approves Summary: 5 StarsI am a senior in high school and big into technical theatre, specifically sound. I consider myself something of an audiophile. I received these speakers as a gift a few years ago, before I knew anything about audio. I loved them then and I love them now.
First of all, the sound quality is excellent. I have a Dell laptop and listen to quite a bit of music (alot of alternative and grunge, mostly). The difference between the built-in speakers and these ones are night and day. The highs are clear and bright, the mids don't lack punch, and the bass isn't distorted, even almost all the way up. I keep the subwoofer next to my desk and it's powerful enough to shake the room if I want it to, but also delivers good sound at low volumes. I recently competed in Sound Design at a state-wide theatrical convention and brought these speakers with me to do my presentation. It was storming the entire night and at one point, when I tested a thunderclap sound effect, everyone in the large conference hall-sized room thought it was a real thunderclap because of how powerful and clear the subwoofer was. When I made my presentation the judges were quite impressed. I qualified for the National Level and I think these speakers had alot to do with it.
One of the other things I love about these speakers is the ease of adjustment. The wired remote control that sits on your desk has not only volume control and a headphone jack, but a seperate bass control as well. I use this knob probably about as much as I do the volume and I can't imagine how much of a hassle it would have been if the designers had put bass control on the subwoofer or left it out entirely. Luckily they got it right. Also worth mentioning is that all cords run into and out of the subwoofer (in: power, input signal; out: left and right speakers, remote control). None of the them are integrated except the speakers on one end, so extending them is an option, as well as adding adapters, splitters, etc.
In short, these speakers have served me well for a long time, and I plan on taking them to college with me very soon. If you're looking for a 2.1 system that doesn't cost an exhorborant amount of money but really delivers on quality, you can't go wrong with these. If I ever buy another pair of speakers for myself I'm looking at Creative first.
