Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Apple iPhone 1G Soft Polycarbonate Slim fit Case -Black(Cozip Brand) Made in KoreaCustomer Review: Sleek case for a sleek phone Summary: 5 Stars
Most of the other cases out there cost at least $30 and some even sell for close to $300. Some of them scratch the iPhone and others make the iPhone too bulky. This is by far the best looking case that complements the iPhone's sleek industrial design instead of being an impediment to it.
Along with this case, I bought a clear plastic film for the touch screen and the iPhone might as well be naked. It won't offer much protection if you're prone to dropping your phone, but I primarily wanted some protection for when I slip it in and out of my pocket. I now just toss the phone in my pocket without fear of scratches. The case does have a nice tactile feel to it. When they say "soft", they don't mean "soft" as a fur is soft. The "soft" is most comparable to a newly born baby's skin.
As for the other reviewers who are complaining about the case not offering any screen protection - you really do want to get a separate film for the screen. It's really not a big deal. The cyrstal film will not only protect the phone from scratches, it will protect it from all the dust and oil from your hands. I would have hated it if it came with a hard flip top plastic screen as it would have added unnecessary bulk and an annoyance of having to constantly unflip it to do anything with the phone.
There was another reviewer who complained that the picture makes it seem like it protects the entire iPhone. There are multiple pictures for the case, so please be sure to look through it. It's pretty straightforward how it protects the iPhone.
As for not being able to dock your iPhone -- this would be the case for most of the other cases out there either. I'm not sure how "docking" the iPhone offers anything more than simply plugging in the cable? You can simply plug the cable in without the removing the case.
I would recommend this case to anyone who has an iPhone. You won't regret it.
Customer Review: Slim but no shock absorption or break protection. Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this skin after seeing high reviews. However after trying it first hand, I dont agree with the reviews with 4 and 5 stars at all. This is why. The whole purpose of a skin is:
1. Minimize breakage/scratches from drops.
2. Must allow full access to all buttons and connection.
3. Be slim enough to be comfortable enough to put in hand/pocket.
4. Must be sleek and cool looking.
5. Must not add too much weight.
This skin does meets 4 of the 5 requirements, however it does meet the MOST IMPORTANT reason, drop protection. It lacks it so much that all 4 corners are not protected. In fact the case is designed to cut around the corner to keep it thin. While this makes it sleek and cool looking, it does not provide shock/drop protection at all. Imagine taping 5 thin pieces of plastic around the phone and skipping the corners.
Not all is bad, the positive thing is that it does protect the phone's back and side from scratches BUT I had absolutely no doubt that if I were to drop it accidentally, the thin plastic would be useless in absorbing any shock at all, thus causing breakage. Let's face it, most skin buyers buy them to protect their $400-$500 from breakage and scratches if it accidentally drops.
Like a few other reviewers stated, this is simply a "polycarbonate" (fancy word for plastic) case. I admit it's the slimmest and coolest looking skin, but it provides ZERO break protection. Once you drop it, you'll know what I mean.
Shortly after this, I bought my 3rd skin that provided full protection and included a free screen protector. That one was almost perfect. See my other reviews.
Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for - Almost Summary: 4 Stars
I just received my iphone case. I went a long time without a case simply because I was too picky when it came to all of the cases at the apple store, etc. Before having a case I dropped my iphone on the pavement or sidewalk at least 10 times, as well as spilled water on it, and carried it around in my purses and bags and pockets. Months later - it's a bit scratched on the corners but all things considered is in pretty excellent condition. I now knew the true durability of this phone and didn't find it necessesary to load it up in heavy armor. I basically wanted something to protect the corners and provide some kind of grip on the sides, which are slippery and caused 99% of the drops - but at the same time didn't want a thick rubbery case that I would have a hard time sliding in and out of my back pocket. This case is perfect for that purpose. It's light, thin and the coating on the outside provides grip without being so rubbery. My only complaint sofar is that I feel they could have covered a bit more on the top and bottom as they did on the sides. The corners of this phone are particularly vunerable and the case really only covers about half of each corner. Though, with the grip on the sides, I can't really see myself dropping it as much anymore. Overall I'm happy with this case. It also arrived to FL from CA 3 days after I ordered it. Can't beat that.
Customer Review: Beauty is often deceptive Summary: 2 Stars
I've done a lot of research on iPhone cases and this one looks like the best at first glance. It's nice and slim, clips on easily. This looks like one of the best cases.
That might be true for the first week or so, but then you begin to realize its flaws.
First off, though it feels nice, it's actually made from cheap materials. (It looks pretty from the outside, but the inside is left uncolored. People are right, it's just spray painted to look nice) After some use, the color begins to chip on the edges and you REALLY begin to see how cheap it is. (under the paint is a cream color)
Secondly, it looks like it would protect the phone from scratches. But that also is not entirely truthful. I agree, it protects the phone from external scratches and whatnot. But what you'll soon to notice is that the case itself gives the phone a lot of scratches, particularly at the silver edge of the phone. It isn't pretty.
I gave the item two stars (instead of one) because it does do what it's supposed to. It IS the slimmest case that protects it from external use. It looks pretty and doesn't add bulk.
It's like those used cars you see at the lot. They look pretty and sell for a nice price. But chances are, something's wrong under the hood.
Customer Review: Best iPhone case I've found. Summary: 5 Stars
I buy things online all of the time. Very rarely do I enjoy something so much that I feel the need to give something back to the world. Probably just as well. But I'm going to do it anyway.
Simply put, this is the best iPhone case I've found so far. I have a friend who has two iPhone cases (different than this one) and one of them was pretty poor, the other one pretty good. The big problem with the other iPhone cases I've seen is that you sacrifice usability by using their cases -- they make the iPhone clunky. For me, that's not an option. The iPhone is all about its ease of access. It's a crime to make its body grotesquely large all in the name of protection.
The Cozip case snaps onto your iPhone snugly. I've never felt like it's going to come off. I'm not even sure if it will come off. Ruminating on this for a few moments actually made me realize that it's unlikely to ever come off, but that's fine by me -- it's bonded to my iPhone the way Venom's suit bonded to him, like in that movie Spider-Man 3. The point being, Venom was way cooler with his suit on, just like my iPhone is way cooler with its case on.
I highly recommend this product.
