Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Corsair Flash Survivor 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive CMFUSBSRVR-16GBCustomer Review: Corsair Survivor 16GB flash drive Summary: 5 Stars
The Survivor meets the need I had for a rugged thumb drive; most others I'd purchased up to this point came apart for one reason or another. I suspect the Survivor will hold up much better. My only complaint, albeit a minor one, was the fact that I had to drill out the lanyard hole a bit so that I could run an aircraft keyring cable through the hole, to affix the Survivor to my keyring. Other than that, the device performs well, is fast enough and it looks pretty cool too. I didn't think the much higher price of the Lacie XtremeKey was justified, so I bought the Survivor, which is sufficiently rugged.

It's a flash drive so not much say. It does what it's supposed to and is very well built. I wish it was just a tad smaller, but it's still portable and goes on a key chain. I wanted the 32 GB model but Amazon didn't have it in this size. They had the GTR which is much longer. I use True Crypt on it and that works great. So my data is safe and secure physically and digitally. The only thing I which this had was the ability to put on a key ring on both ends. The photo shows you can do that but when I got it you can only put it one end. I guess they changed it.

I have a Ford Focus with a SYNC system. The system just requires a USB connection for music. I've been using this thumb drive and its great! I just put the 16 GB worth of mp3 files on this and I've got practically all I need and at my finger tips. Much cheaper than using another MP3 player if you're going to use it exclusively in your car. I'm not sure that I'm going to go hiking with this and test its durability, but I haven't had any problems with its capacity. Definitely worth it.
Customer Review: corsair 16G flash survivor Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased two of these. One works fine; the other does not. It asks to be formated when I plug it into my computer. This happened on the second day of use. Followed the instructions on the website to reformat the drive, when the standard methods failed. No luck, was told by Corsair that I have to send in the drive to be analyzed. They have had the drive for a week now and still no response. I have little experience with this company, but this does not bode well.
Customer Review: Great flash drive Summary: 5 Stars
This memory is the best choice for people who need somethng really robust & tough. I guess this one has everything you need, for a fair price.
The memory works just fine: no complains...
I guess there is something you must keep in mind before you purchase it: it is a bit bigger that a average memory you use to see...
I mean, it is bigger than you might expect...
but after all, it is no problem.
