Customer Review: It's a great drive, but has one small flaw

There are already plenty of reviews describing the performance of this drive, and how much damage it can take. I'm just writing to warn people that the chances of getting one identical to the ones pictured are slim. I've received two of these now (16GB, and 8GB), both are what I'm assuming is an older model with the eyelet for attaching it to something only on one side. Now this wouldn't bother me that much if it wasn't on the most inconvenient side. What I mean by this is that the eyelet is on the drive itself, so when you remove the casing, the drive is still attached to whatever you have it on. This means you have to detach the drive whenever you want to use it. Unless whatever you have it attached to isn't too heavy for a USB port.Customer Review: Check on the inside

As they say beauty is on the inside. Well that is where this thumb drive fails. The metal cylinder is well made and will never break. But the thumb drive within is cheap plastic. Within a month of use it has begun to fall apart. This is sad, I had high hopes for this. Spend your money elsewhere if you want a really rugged flash drive. Also the flash drive makes some weird electrical popping noise when it first contacts the usb port, independent of which computer I use it on. Hopefully everything is grounded properly on this thing and it will not short circuit my board.Customer Review: Great Product & Durable

Got this product just over a week ago, and the first thing I felt compelled to do with it was throw it against my dresser, did more damage to the dresser then the flash drive. Some complain that it is a bit to bulky, it is larger then most flash drives but I don't consider it bulky at all. Data transfer rates are not the best on the market but its still a fast device. If you use and abuse your flash drives like I do this one is perfect for you, once its in its capsule nothing can hurt it.Customer Review: 8 gig USB Flash drive

This is a very nice flash drive. I do have a problem with Amazon and their pricings. I bought this unit August 22nd for $50.24 now it seems to be selling for $36.64 with a $10 rebate. I do love this drive so far but I feel like Amazon is ripping me off. Beings how they have dropped the post price guarantee. The Corsair 8GB Flash Survivor USB 2.0 Flash Drive is a great product for the price and the offered durability. It is enclosed in airplane steel holds up to 8 GB. While the upload is slow, the price, style, durability and storage space exceeds this minor flaw. Hands down, this is great value for the price! I highly recommend.
