Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cooler Master Elite Mid Tower Case, RC-310-BWN1-GP (Blue)Customer Review: Amazing Case for very little $$$ Summary: 5 Stars
First thing I need to say, I am absolutely 150% satisfied with this case.
I read some of the other reviews and was expecting razor blade edges and poor, flimsy construction, but for 40$ shipped that wouldn't have bothered me.
Although, I didn't find either of these issues when putting together my system. I worked on it a couple different times (each time I got parts, I installed them) I also have moved the case around 4-5 times in the last week.
I don't know what people were expecting as far as a rigid 'window' but there is nothing 'flimsy' about the window on the side, nor did i encounter any wrist slicing edges on the inside of the case. I must have moved my HDD and optical drive between 2-3 different slots before I decided where I wanted everything. Not once did I feel like I was going to cut myself on an edge.
Also, when installing the power supply and cleaning up the wires, I didn't feel like I was going to cut myself on any edges or tear the 'sheath' on the wires.
I do agree that the front of this case will be a fingerprint magnet, but thats the nature of a glossy surface. I don't plan on fondelling the case much after the machine is up and running anyway. Fingerprints are nothing 20 seconds with a microfiber cloth can't fix.
I really like the 120mm fan slots on the case also, with the 'bolt patterns' for smaller fans if you want or have some laying around.
The blue color on the trim is very nice and looks like it will last (not chip or anything)
There are a ton of slots for 3.5" and 5" drives. There is also a 3.5" slot for a memory card reader or dino drive (floppy).
The case comes with a great amount of hardware (motherboard spacers, 6-32 screws, drive screws, etc.)
There is only one VERY minor things that I could consider a 'con' to this case.
One would be that there is no opening on the other side of the case to mount a CPU cooler to the CPU without taking out the motherboard. This wont be a concern for most people who build their board before installing it in the case or for those who don't want/need an aftermarket CPU cooler.
I will have pictures posted very soon, the build will be completed tonight.
PROS: EVERYTHING, literally..
Price; 40$ for a case with everything needed for the everyday user and low/mid level enthusiast
Size; not TO big, but plenty of space to hook everything up without being crammed
Window; Yes, there really isn't a need for a window, but with it has a cool shape and adds a nice bit of design to the case
120mm fan slots: comes with 1-120mm fan and two slots (back and side for 80,90 or 120mm fans
Front Audio hookup; supports HD Audio!!!
Color Bezel; The color bezel is VERY nice looking, buy a case and you will see what I mean
Glossy front; looks really classy
CONS:
none, unless you consider the inability to install a CPU cooler that bolts to the board while the Motherboard is installed a con.
What can't you like about such a sturdy 40$ case?
