My tv stand shelf only allows 2" breathing room above my Onkyo 606 receiver and it gets hot in there, but since adding this fan, the Onkyo is muuuuuuch cooler. I already lost one HDMI input and my GUI, but since the fan, theres no more cutting out, clicking or the sweet smell of burnt electronics. I wish I had this fan when I bought my Onkyo back in '09. Before installing the sticky rubber feet, clean the contact points with alcohol first otherwise they WILL fall off. Also this fan is very quiet so make sure if you hook it up to a HD DVR that the USB powers down when the box's power is shut off. My Direct TV box still sends power to the USB and optical audio port well after the power is shut down, so I just use the side USB port on my Samsung.
