Customer Review: Cheap and workable, but flawed. Emergency use only.

This ludicrously inexpensive SDHC reader/writer is basically functional, but has some flaws:
1. It appears to gag on large data transfers -- in my case, I installed OSX on an 8gb SDHC card, and was able to boot my MacBook from this card using this unit, but whenever I do so, the boot stalls partway through and I have to remove and re-insert the card-reader to continue the boot. I have subsequently gotten an express-card reader that replaces this unit, and it has no problems booting from the same OSX-loaded SD-card -- confirming that the problem lies with the el-cheapo card reader.
2. The case appears to be made from styrene plastic, and is thus rather brittle and delicate. One of mine has developed cracks and occasionally just falls apart, leaving the internal circuit board unprotected.
