Customer Review: It's Cheap for a Reason -- Read This Prior to Purchasing

I'm going to try and capture my experience with the Cheetah APTMM2B mount as accurately as possible without this turning into a rant. This mount can be successfully used, though Cheetah hasn't made the process exactly easy.
I recently decided remodel my living room and as part of that process I chose to mount my 46" Sharp Aquos LC46D84U above my fireplace. There's nothing particularly unique or out of the norm about my living room. I have 16" on center studs in the wall - a brick fireplace but drywall and studs above. All-in-all a pretty easy installation. This was not my first time mounting a flat-panel television to a wall.
After opening the box to my Cheetah mount the first thing I notice is that the parts bag wasn't sealed properly and the parts are freely rattling around in the box. I start taking inventory and immediately notice I'm missing various parts. A couple of the locking washers, one screw, and two plastic spacers. Okay, I'm immediately not happy. Though I finish reading the manual and note that I might not need every part for my installation. I decide to press on hoping that the missing parts aren't anything critical to my installation.
My Aquos does not include the mounting screws for the TV so I have to rely on the ones provided by Cheetah. The manual states that the screws will fit "most TVs". There are 3 size screws provided by Cheetah, though as I stated I'm missing one of the largest screws. Luckily my TV takes the medium size screw that is provided. Only after attempting to attach the bracket I notice that the screws are too long and won't properly tighten. Again, not exactly happy with the product. I end up having to go to Lowes to find the same diameter screw, only shorter of course. While there I buy a set of locking washers to cover the ones missing from the package. Finally, I'm able to get the brackets attached to the back of my TV. On to the mount...
The mount itself comes in four pieces that are super easy to assemble. The steel feels strong enough and there's a nice looking black finish to the set. Though my mount arrived smelling like petroleum - presumably from the paint. It's something that will fade over time but it's definitely a noticeable odor.
After getting the mount assembled I measure everything out and then measure again. I make my marks and get everything nice and level. Here is where I made a huge mistake thanks in large part to Cheetah. At some point I stopped using my level and instead trusted the one built into the mount - DO NOT make that mistake. The level built into this mount is incorrect. I only realized this after drilling my holes, securing the mount and attaching my TV. My wife immediately pointed out that it wasn't level - she was absolutely correct. One side of the TV was a little over .5" off level. Just to make sure it wasn't my mantle I checked level on that - it's definitely the mount. I used my level on the mount and sure enough it wasn't level though the built in level is showing that it is.
I finally got everything down, drilled new holes, used my own level and got everything mounted correctly. Once it was on the wall I was happy with the look, though a bit stressed at how cumbersome the installation went.
Bottom line: This mount is cheap for a reason. The manufacturer is sloppy - I'm not the only person who was missing parts, read some other reviews here on Amazon. The paint job on the mount is amateurish and not up to par with what companies like Sanus are providing with their product. The included level is joke - better to leave the entire thing off than to provide something so horribly inaccurate. If I had to do it again I would not buy this product. Only with much hassle and trial and error was I able to successfully use this product. Save yourself the hassle and spend a little more on a better product.
