Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cheetah Mounts Plasma LCD Flat Screen TV Articulating Full Motion Dual Arm Wall Mount Bracket For 32-65" Displays Up To 165LBS Black With 10' High Speed HDMI Cable With Ethernet Fits Up To 24" StudsCustomer Review: Good mount, but difficult to adjust Summary: 3 Stars
I will say this wall mount is incredibly sturdy and quite flexible in it TV products. I will say that the instructions are pretty good, but slightly out of order (Steps 5 and 6 were out of order, correct in their directions, jut out of order). There are plenty of different installation methods and plenty of features that allow you to set the mount up for installation.
The one major negative that I have against this wall mount is how difficult it was to adjust once installed. I would offer that once the mount is installed and set with the TV on it, the mount cannot be moved by adjusting the TV, i.e. pushing an edge to angle the TV from side to side.
Caveat - since this is the first mount I have installed, this may be a common design feature. I can see why you would not want to be able to adjust the mount with the touch of a finger, but this mount was so difficult to adjust I would be afraid of pushing on the TV and flexing the panel to the point of breaking it before the mount moved.
So while I do appreciate the construction and quality of the materials and have no fear that the mount can handle the weight, I do have reservations that is does not perform as I expected it too. It is more a mount for setting up the TV to view in a particular direction and not move it ever again.
Customer Review: Good unit for price Summary: 4 Stars
Overall I am satisfied with the mount, but there were a few issues with the unit that kept me from giving it more than 4 stars. Probably the most important was the level that mounted directly on the unit. If you are planning on using this to help you level the unit up, you will have lots of fun ahead of you. I did not pay attention to the included level while installing the mount, as I was using a 4' Johnson level to insure this thing was dead on. When I had it all installed and perfectly level, I just happened to look at the level on the mount and the bubble was all the way to the right - saying it was off level by over 1/4", which was impossible. Also, the 6MM screws that come with the package (2 lengths of 6MM screws do come with the mount - one was way too long even with the plastic spacer and one was too short - only would grab by one thread) do not work for this Sony model (Bravia 46"). I went to Menards and bought 16MM long screws, which worked perfectly. Once the TV was set into place, I squared everything up and it does hold it nicely. The construction is decent - not great, but decent and will hold your TV for years. The only comment I would have would be to make sure and use your own level (at least a 24" in length) to level things up with the mount - it will save a possible headache.
Customer Review: Hardly "full motion" Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this mount for a 37" LCD. I purchased two of these mounts after reading the reviews and was confident that they would be sturdy. Well - they were sturdy...and actually not too difficult to put up. NOTE: IT is HEAVY! I was very surprised at the weight....and it will definately take 2 people to put it up.
The problem was with the "full motion" part. I noticed as soon as I took a mount out of the box that it was "stiff." It took all my strength to open it up enough to get to the holes on the back so that I could anchor it to the wall. I was hopeful that once I got it on the wall it would have enough resistance that it would move better....it didn't. It would have caused damage to the TV if I had to pull that hard to get it to move out or side to side. I thought about loosening the joints....but the product did not come with tools to do so (and it came with a lot of extra hardware for a variety of different trouble shooting possibilities) nor did it comment on the necessity anywhere in the instructions. I didn't want to compromise the integrity of the mount...so instead I took the whole thing down and shipped it back. I was happy that I had purchased it from Amazon with the free shipping and not directly from the seller - because it made the return very straight forward and simple.
Customer Review: Well Worth It Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this to mount my 42" Plasma. The mount itself is extremely sturdy, and well built. As some of the reviewers have stated the arms can be a little stiff (slightly more difficult for my girlfriend, she petite). After a period of time the articulating arms have loosened up enough where it's quite smooth. I plan on purchasing another for my brother's birthday. The directions could be slightly more specific. I would suggest having a second person to assist in the installation(although I was so excited I couldn't wait for anyone). Make sure to Lag screw it to the studs. I paid $69, it was well worth it. My only complaints were that the mounting plate itself should probably be slightly longer,(approximately 24") it's actually 19 3/4", for specific mounting applications. Like studs that are spaced more than 20" apart, or more particular centering needs, but where the T.V. mounts to arms is adjustable left and right. I would have liked to have a positive stop where the T.V. meets the arms there are Allen screws that stop the T.V. sliding from left and right. A slightly larger knob for the television tilt as well. If you are at all mechanically inclined installation won't be a problem at all. Overall GREAT PRODUCT for the money and would recommend the Cheetah Mount it to anyone.
Customer Review: Cheetah Mounts APDAM2B Plasma LCD Flat Screen TV Articulating Full Motion Dual Arm Wall Mount Bracket for 32 to 55-Inch Displays Summary: 5 Stars
This is a sturdy mount that included everything needed to mount my LG 50PK750 Plasma television to our sheetrocked, 16" on center stud wall. To attach the mounting brackets to the television, I had to utilize the included 8mm plastic spacers, screws, lock and flat washers due to the recessed mounting holes on the LG. After locating the wall studs with a Zircon Studsensor Pro, the mounting holes were aligned and marked using a level (not the included level) and a 3/16" drill bit was used for the pilot holes in the studs/wall. Attaching the mount to the wall may be a two person job, but I was able to extend the mount and rest it on my shoulder while I screwed in the supplied lag bolts with a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket (1/2"). The total installation took me about 30 minutes, but I'm sure someone could easily complete this job in a shorter amount of time. After mounting, the gap between the rear of the television and the wall was about 6 inches. I might go for a flatter mount, one that does not protrude so far from the wall, but this will do for now.
I have not tried to extend the mount with the television installed, but the tilt feature seems to work fine. Make sure you secure the television with tightening the Allen head bolts before attempting any extension or tilt.
