I am new to the LCD TV world and I took the chance and ordered this mount with my 32in LCD TV. This little thing carried the TV effortlessly. I was thinking that there might be some shaking or straining but no. Very solid, and I think it looks nice on the wall. Nicely hidden from front and uniformed from the side. Not obtrusive as I feared.
The biggest problem I had, which I saw people writing about, was the setup. Now, its really simple to set up and the instructions are in fact correct but it took me at least 10 minutes to figure out what they are saying. Additional pictures would have helped.
The other thing was, there are two screws at the bottom that when loosened, allow you to easily remove the tv from the mount. Mine are still loose. I needed a much longer screw driver to tighten them and I didn't have one.
That said, its almost impossible for the tv to even be knocked off the mount and there is no shaking so I'm good. I am also able to easily attach any additional components at the back of the the tv.
Not a low profile mount but its inexpensive and does what it says. It works for me.
Customer Review: my first wall mount Summary: 4 Stars
TV: toshiba Regza 32 inch
I bought this wall mount from amazon because of the price and reviews. When it arrived it took me a few minutes to figure out how I was supposed to screw the wall mount together (my first one). Not too difficult at all but the instructions are poor.
The bolts used to screw the mount to the wall (wood studs) are wayyyyy too big in my opinion. Went to Home Depot and got thinner and a tad shorter screws. Also, wish the pack included some better washers. These are minor gripes because screws and washers are totally cheap and most people have all kinds of extras lying around the house.
The tv mounts fit fine for my Toshiba. The balance included in the mount was definitely a plus! The wall mount is pretty slim so its not the easiest to adjust the tilt but once you have something in place that you like, you will probably never adjust it.
Once attached, the thing is SOLID. Very happy, TV looks great...now just gotta find a way to hide the cables hanging down that go to my laptop (for streaming video :) )
Customer Review: Saved a $100 bucks and it was delivered to my door! Summary: 5 Stars
When I bought my new TV I knew I would need a mounting bracket for it. I searched a few of them on the Internet then I did some comparison shopping at Fry's. I was shocked the see that Fry's wanted to charge a $135.00 for the same $33.00 bracket that I found on the Web.
Because of where I mounted my TV (above the window), I had to build special brackets to bring the TV out past the curtain rods. But this was my choice and has no bearing on this product's design. The 15 degree tilt feature works good because the TV is mounted high on the wall and I view this TV from my bed so the viewing angle is at its optimum.
After the installation of my TV I later found that I could of had a choice of buying a single arm mount (for the same amount of money that I had invested in mounting this TV) but then I realized that those are for the smaller 19" TV's that are meant to be adjusted and then re-adjusted for viewing convenience (such as in a kitchen environment).
So a little bit of pre-planning will save you money and maximize your viewing comfort.
Customer Review: No need to pay big bucks to hang your flat screen. Summary: 4 Stars
As someone who has helped a friend install a more expensive, big box store mount, I can tell you that this mount is just as effective. Instructions are simple enough, and install takes approximately 30 minutes. All appropriate hardware was included, although I did need to use my LG LCD's stand mount screws to attach the set to the mount.
There was just one problem with this mount, and this is mainly because it is a universal mount. If I installed the brackets to the TV too low it blocked my component inputs. If I attached them higher then the top of the brackets were visible above the TV once mounted. I remedied this by attaching the brackets higher and then cutting off the excess with a Makita diamond blade saw. This issue may be specific to my LG TV, but still something worth noting.
My only other comment is that if you are expecting this mount to tilt up and down (maybe for varying light conditions throughout the day), this may not be the mount for you. It really works best as a mount where it is set once and never touched again.
Customer Review: Useable Junk Summary: 2 Stars
This wall mount is basically junk, but it does get the job done. The installation instructions aren't so great either. Normally, I expect text and a few diagrams (a picture is worth 1000 words, right?) but the installation instructions for this mount are all text. Also, the bubble levels that were included with the mount were not even close to level. Luckily I didn't trust the junky bubble levels included, and used one of my own. From one end of the mount to the other, I would have been off by about 1/2 inch (very noticeably crooked) if I'd used the included levels. The lag bolts were kind of junky too...even pre drilling the studs, they were difficult to get into place because the ends were rounded off.
I did manage to install the mount, and it does hold the TV on the wall so I'd rate the mount useable, but junk. If you expect to spend some extra time fooling around with crappy instructions, crappy hardware, and don't trust the levels that are in the box - then I guess it isn't that bad for the price.
