Customer Review: Best for over the air TV !

My review comes from 10 years of antenna TV at my solar powered cabin in a remote
location in Upstate NY. No Telephone poles for 10 miles, nearest TV stations 40 miles
and 75 miles away. I get about about 10 channels from each market. 70-100% , we got 2 before !
I have this preamp about 10 yrs and im always asked "how do you get such clear TV?"
It runs fine on cheap Inverter power too, no interference. I also get similar results
here at my house in the burbs. At both locations I have a small roof antenna with the
preamp mounted right at the antenna, then down a cable to the basement and then into the
power unit "Tan box with the white cord" . I come out of that into a good 4 way splitter.
From there I feed 3 TV's throughout the house, no problem. You need no power cable to the antenna
preamp, it gets DC power and Antenna signals on the same coax
If you dont see a great improvement with this preamp, you are doing something wrong.
I've recomended this to countless friends with hunting cabins out in the Stix, every
one works great. Maybe the one Neg review didn't check or replace old coax, old antenna connections ???
-If you have a really weak signal and more than 2 TV's, think cm7777.
If not, then the additional gain of the 7777 is unnecessary and
can overload your TV.
Basically, this preamp amplifies the TV signal right at the Antenna (where it is resonant, pure and much stronger) and then it sends this Strong Pure TV signal down great lengths of cable to your TV.
Without it, the TV signal travels down the cable and is mostly lost in the cable's
resistance, further, it picks up all kinds of undesireable interference signals along the
way.
I can truly say, you will get better reception with this preamp connected to rabbit ears
than a good antenna and no preamp. I've tried all sorts of antenna's and the cm4221 works
great. I have a cm 4228 here at my house where i'm in a shadowed area and need the bigger 4228 but
At my cabin, I literally have it hooked to rabbit ears up on the roof. If you do an outside installation
make sure you tape the connections with "coax seal" they sell this for ham radio and commercial
tower installations... it's cheap. Good luck and hope this review helps you.
