In my quest to connect my guitar to my iphone I bought this adapter (SF Planet) based on the following claims:
Technical Details
1)Comes in Midnight Black and is a 4" length
2)Allows the adapter to be used with stereo headphones that also have integrated microphone functionality
3)Made and designed to work seamlessly with the Apple iPhone.
4)Made with Nickel plated materials, 3.5mm 4-pole plug, 3.5mm 4-pole jack and a 10 cm (L
All details are misleading except for #1.
1)True
2)Yes you can hear left and right audio with standard 3.5mm headphones. Forget about microphone functionality
when used with headphones with integrated microphone, also forget about clean stereo - distortion.
3)Come again?
4)Yes, 4-pole male plug to 4-pole female jack, but what one assumes is that there are four wires connected to each pole (left,right,ground,mic) There are only three. How do I know? I cut the piece of garbage open and confirmed.
The product you will be sent manufactured by Fosmon - model #A1516. A simple headphone adapter designed to listen to audio with standard 3.5mm headphones not compatible with a recessed jack. Other sellers on the web sell this same product on the web less the misleading technical details found here. For those of you giving this product good reviews, you overpaid for the utility you enjoy. Higher quality adapters with equal functionality to this are available on ebay for $1.00 with free shipping.
