The Case Logic TBC-310 SLR Sling for a SLR Camera is a unique and comfortable small to medium sized camera bag. Rather than the larger back pack type bags, this one has only one strap and can be slung over one shoulder and down across the back, around the waist and the connected in the front. The benefit of this is that you can rotate the bag around to the front, without unbuckling the strap. The shoulder pad goes over the left shoulder, and you swing the bag down under your right arm to the front. From this position, the "side" pocket is on top, and this is the chamber your camera is in. You can easily unzip the bag and pull your SLR camera out and then swing the bag back behind you and out of the way to take photographs. Putting the camera back is just as easy.
Case Logic bags don't seem to have as much padding as those by LowePro, but then they are a lot less expensive. I've had products from both companies, and find them both to be very good. This bag is well made, it is black in color with a small amount of gray around the trim on the back, and it has a number of nice features. The side compartment for your camera body contains a sleeve that your lens fits down into. It is held in place with Velcro. This sleeve can be moved some depending on your camera and additional lenses you may wish to put in this chamber. There is space to hold other equipment in the compartment. Additionally, the flap that opens on this side camera compartment has a zipper on the inside that secures a lightweight material compartment that will hold thin items such as memory cards.
The back of the bag, as you have it on your back, has a shallow compartment that opens with a zipper like many traditional back packs do. It is shallow because two compartments are behind it, the side one for the camera and the top compartment I'll describe next. Inside the shallow compartment is a mesh pocket, and a zippered pocket. Thin items, such as documents or something could fit in this, but nothing with any bulk. There is also a zippered pocket on the flap that opens out, and again, these compartments and pockets are for thin items.
The top of the bag has another zipper. This chamber goes down and there is a barrier, held by Velcro that makes the side of the camera pocket, and the bottom of this chamber. The size of this chamber is just a little bigger than both of my fists. This chamber also has a small mesh pocket on the side for small thin items, and there is a clip attached inside the bag that you could clip a key or something to. The top also has a carrying handle attached to it. Lastly, on the side that does not open, there are two straps that Velcro together to hold items such as a small tripod or other similar item. One more thing I liked about this bag is the short Velcro straps on the strap that connects in front of you with the buckle. Case Logic calls this the innovative strap management system to eliminate dangling straps. It does just that. I liked how it keeps the strap tight and how it doesn't dangle down in front of you.
Overall, this is a well made and handy SLR camera sling that has space to carry your camera, alternate lenses, and other items both camera related or personal. If you are looking for a small to medium bag to sling over one shoulder and still be able to get your camera out easily without removing the sling, this is the case for you.
