Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Case Logic SLRC-5 SLR Camera Backpack (Black/Gray)

Customer Review: Great choice for someone with 4 or less lenses.
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a nice little pack to store all your SLR goods in. I would recomend this pack to anyone who owns a SLR and plans on owning less than 4 lenses. The main top compartment holds the SLR and the stock lens or zoom lense under 80-90mm. My major issue is that you cannot put the camera away with long zoom lense on.

The bottom main compartment holds my three other lenses, plus I use one of the lense storage 'cubbies' to hold my users manual, battery charger, usb wire etc. The side compartments are great to store lense cleaning supplies, filters, pen, notepaper, etc.

This bag also has a hard bottom and back. Because of this solid construction, I would not worry if I dropped it on the ground.

Once again, my only issue is that the main camera pocket is cramped and cannot hold the camera if you have a telophoto/long zoom lense on.

(Case Logic also makes a similar bag with 2 more lense cubbies and a laptop slot.)

Customer Review: Well made and roomy!
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm mostly very pleased with this purchase. The backpack is very well made and has plenty of space for my Cannon Rebel XSI, spare telephoto lens, battery, charger, booklets, memory cards, and filters. This leaves room also for a small spare camera to use for movies, for binaculars, and for misc. items I would otherwise have in a purse. It is cushioned extreemly well thoroughly protecting all equiptment and has a hard base as well. I think if I had a choice I would choose to have one slightly smaller and lighter since I don't truly need all the space this offers. It might be a little cumbersome on some of my travels after being used to carrying a small camera in my regular backpack all these years. I guess this comes along with moving up to a better camera. If you have a good camera and several lenses I would say this is a great buy!

Customer Review: Great case for all your gear
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this case for travel and to combine my notebook case and camera case. This is a great backpack, and currently houses my Canon 40D with kit lens in the top. It is a tight fit, but works good. A Rebel XTI or similar would fit great. Below I have a zoom lens, a fixed lens, a AVCHD camcorder, a small panasonic digital camera and a couple chargers. There is still plenty of room in the side pockets for other gear, such as battery packs, tripod, phone, memory, etc. My Macbook Pro 15" notebook fits in the back fine. This may even replace my Oakley notebook case for good, it is always nice to have your camera close. It is no good if you need it and it is not there. If you are looking for a similar pack, you cannot go wrong with this. Great price too!

Customer Review: Wish there was a little more space.
Summary: 3 Stars

The bag is comfortable in the sense that on your back it fits well and breathes so you are not soaking wet after a hard hike. The only thing I would like to see on this bag would be a bottom or middle pouch that you could slip a book or camera bean bag into. Since I am new to this type of camera I have the "Dummies" book for it and I wanted to take it with me on my fishing day with the kids but there was really no storage for that type of thing. This is not a big deal for it does hold the camera and the lenses and the caps and an extra memory card with no problems and makes everything safe and secure. Hope this helps.

Customer Review: Useful camera bag
Summary: 4 Stars

This backpack camera bag is generally excellent. The quality and assembly is good; it is easy to take on and off, and cradles the camera very well.

The lens compartments are a bit large for 4-thirds size lenses, and there could be more space for accessories such as camera manual, filter boxes, and wires. I also found the hook-and-loop retaining straps so "strong" that it is sometimes hard to manipulate them; on the other hand nothing is going to fall out.
