Interestingly, the first thing the salesman (Sears) said when I decided on my Nuvi 1350T and asked for a case was "They are really hot - keep it with you." Tho the case fits in the glovebox, I keep the unit in this case in my purse. I don't even leave the bean bag on the dash.
With longer nails, I use the mesh for the included cleaning cloth and (temporarily)the quick start guide as I'm afraid I might damage the screen when removing it. I'm always in a hurry so I don't quite fully open the usually smooth zipper to quick slip it in/out. Once in a while I have a little difficulty making one of the upper corners when unzipping.
The "silky" wrist strap appears sturdy enough. Hubby (rugged outdoors type) has larger hands (ring 13.5) which just fit w/ my index fingers holding the loop open. He would "never carry it on his wrist".
While I suspect the slight inward curve of the case is meant to gently hold the unit in place w/ the screen out, I plan to get some fabric adhesive to add some "sheepskin" or a bit of thin egg crate foam (mattress topper) for a bit more cush. For that reason I didn't give it all 5 stars.
Let's face it, much more cushion - we might be more unhappy w/ extra bulk!
I don't believe this was meant to carry all the cords. Just essentials for the day - in your hand, a briefcase or purse. I can easily close it with the USB cord inside. Still waiting for other cords not included to arrive.
I'd call it a semi-rigid shell. If my purse/briefcase where dropped or knocked some, I believe it would still be protected. Amazon has a SumacLIFE case that appears less bulky - still considering that one.
Just wish I'd known I was going to buy a unit BEFORE I bought a small purse in September, LOL! Hope this helps ... 8-)
