Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables Unlimited 6-Foot HDMI Male to Male Cable (PCM-2295-06)Customer Review: A great cable at a great price Summary: 5 Stars
I had an overpriced HDMI cable to compare this with because earlier when I bought my HDTV and wanted a cable "right then" I was able to buy a $60 cable half-off at BestBuy (it was open box). I completely agree that this cable does the trick at a fraction of the price. Movies played on our new upconverting DVD player look luscious. I also like the way the cable is constructed--sturdy, with a very flexible covering. The cable came with covers over its tips, as well, to protect it en route. Nice touch.
I need another cable because I just realized (duh!) that if I'm routing the cable box IN to our new home theater receiver I need another cable to route the receiver OUT to the TV, plus I want some other types of cables for the audio, and I'll purchase all of these from one of the Amazon online sellers. It's worth the short wait.
Customer Review: Cables work great but fit very loosely Summary: 4 Stars
I bought 2 of these cables after reading reviews here and I agree that they work great and also that they fit very loosely. I can't compare this cable with the much more expensive Monster cable (~$80) but the picture and sound I get when watching HD-DVDs played on my new Toshiba HD-A20 HD DVD player and new Sony Bravia KDL-40V3000 HD 1080p LCD TV is awesome! I also had Comcast upgrade my service to HD and they installed a DCH3200 set top box. The HDMI cable connection to all three HD devices is loose but the cables haven't fallen out or anything in the 4 weeks that they've been in service. I'm happy with the cables and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I needed it. I would recommend this cable to anyone wishing to save a little cash over the cost of the much more expensive Monster cables ($13.50 ea vs ~$80 ea).
Customer Review: It' a HDMI cable Summary: 5 Stars
There is not much to say other than it is inexpensive and works fine. Why pay a fortune for a cable when you can get one for very little. Interference is not really a problem with HDMI because it is a digital signal not Rf. Many mfg's want you to believe that their cables will shield stray signals, from what? RFI interference is not an issue. For short runs, under 25 feet, most of the cheap cables work fine. The connectors on some of the expensive cables are more robust but sometime that can cause your input jacks on your equipment to break. Don't let hype sell you the 'Brooklyn Bridge'. If you do not constantly plug and unplug your components, I have found the cheap cables work as well as the $50+ ones. HDMI cables are HDMI cables. Save some money and purchase another blu-ray movie instead of a $100 cable.
Customer Review: As far as I can tell no difference between this and the $100 cables Summary: 5 Stars
For my purposes, without any complicated surround sound systems and with a 720p TV, I can't tell any difference between this cable and the more expensive models I've tried. This is triple-shielded as are the $80-$100 cables. I only even got it to free up a component input for my DVD player, otherwise I wouldn't have tried it. I can say, though, that it is surely better picture than the component cables that I had used to pipe my HDTV receiver signal to my 32" 720p Samsung LCD. I don't know if there would be a difference between this cable and an $80 Monster cable if you were using, for example, a 1080p signal on a 50" plasma screen and using Dolby 5.1 or something like that; but I can say that for my TV and sound you can save the money and buy this cable - use the extra 60 bucks to buy a few HD movies.
Customer Review: Not Good Enough Summary: 2 Stars
Purchased two of these cables to use with my new PS3 and 1080p TV. The first cable wouldn't lock in the 1080p signal at all -- the TV would flash that it detected 1080P, then go dark, then repeat. 720p and 1080i seemed to work fine.
Next I tried the second cable and things seemed to be OK at 1080p... but then I noticed a faint static snow that comes and goes along with a slight flicker. Again, if I switch to 720p or 1080i things seem to be OK. I am assuming that these are Category I cables, and that is why they are causing problems.
If you just need 720p or 1080i these should work fine, but if you want to run 1080p, I would look elsewhere for cables that explicitly state that they are Category II. There are plenty of them on Amazon for similar amounts.
