Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables To Go Velocity Series 40315 HDMI Cable (Blue, 2 meters)

Customer Review: The proper cable!
Summary: 5 Stars

The HDMI cable ordered was exactly as described. Very happy with this, especially at this price.
Do the nessecary research before buying you HDMI cables because there are differences in these cables. The ultra cheap cables are standard, and offer standard data transfer rates. In my case, I needed the high speed (HDMI 1.3 compatible) cable, which all new hdtv's and blueray players utilize. These cables have 4-5 times more data throughput than the standard cable, which is required to take advantage of HDMI 1.3's new improved features, and therefore cost a bit more, but still much cheaper than the same type of cables you find in retail stores.
Just be aware of what you're buying!....and check the specs on this cable...it's a 1.3 high bandwidth cable! Great deal.

Customer Review: Great cable
Summary: 5 Stars

This works really well in connecting my Sony upconverting DVD player to my 26 inch Samsung HDTV. I haven't used it between any other electronic devices, but I'm very, very impressed with what it has helped do for my DVD watching experience. It's a great connector between the two products I mentioned above. As someone on a budget, I needed to save money on my entertainment system. This cable is the right price for that at $10.99. Don't buy the $50-100 cables at outlet stores if you have a setup similar to mine since this really does the trick.
The colors are vibrant, the image is sharp, and the sound is great. There have been no issues at all so far. For the price, you're getting a reliable and sturdy cable. Don't try to stretch this across the room, but it will be long enough for most normal entertainment system applications.

Customer Review: Another weary one.

Like many others here, I too was skeptical about the quality of the cable - but now I have **no doubts** about it at all! At first, the cable wasn't working - all I got was a black screen with my Phillips DVD player. On a whim, I cut the power to both the TV & DVD player by turning off the power strip. Once I turned the power, TV, and DVD player back on - everything was fine. The TV picked up the DVD player and HDMI cable and things were just fine after that.

I must also add that I was skeptical because when I had my HD cable box installed (which was also HDMI ready), the cable guy said he'd know of people with much more expensive HDMI cables and he was not a big fan of HDMI. But this cable (in my case), proved both my skepticism to wrong, by the cable guy's as well. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

Customer Review: How much are you really saving?

Product worked great for a 1 year duration, did everything a cable is supposed to do.
Low grade plating however will corrode after some time in a variable humidity environment - anywhere below 10k feet.
The end result of the cable corrosion?
Luckily the only thing that occured was the HDMI port on the television was burnt.
It would have been a costly error if there were only one HDMI port on the unit but luckily the Vizio upper end versions have two.
I tried to post a picture of the corroded cable but the file was too large.
The Belkin cable which had been used for 18 months total from my first HDMI port was totally clean as where all of the devices attached.
Subsequently I purchased a belkin spliter and two more HDMI cables.
p.s. All devices are on an APC surge protector.

Customer Review: Does what its supposed to do
Summary: 5 Stars

I first go a 100$ belkin HDMI cable from Circuit city and was happy with the picuture quality when i watched DVD's. When i decided to get the DVR i wanted an another HDMI cable and got this one from AMAZOn coz i didnt want to spend an another 100bucks. Connected it to my TV frm the DVR and was very disappointed with it. I switched back to component input and checked all the channels i checked out with HDMI connected and coudnt find a differece. I guess its just that i expected too much out of HDMI inputs. I see no difference between watching from component or HDMI. Its all looks and hears the same. I tried watching DVD's with my 100$ HDMI cable and then connected this one. I again didnt find any difference. Overall i am happy with this product. If ever again i would need a HDMI cable i would definitely get this one.
