Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables To Go 98038 Premium Toslink Optical Digital Audio Cable (8 Feet, Black/Grey)Customer Review: Good sound, good price Summary: 5 Stars

To be honest, I didn't know what this was for... my teenagers wanted it to hook up the basement DVD player to the basement sound system. For others like me: this is an 8' long audio cable that can be used to connect devices (TV, DVD, Blu-Ray, gaming consoles) to your existing home stereo system.
My teenagers report that the connections snapped in firmly, that the cable was long enough and flexible enough for their needs, and that the sound is excellent because it is carried by fiberoptics. I can report that it sounds fine to me (I'm no audio-phile though), it works as advertised, it was inexpensive, and the kids think it's cool.

Despite what the marketing folks from some other cable makers (I'm looking at you Monster) would like you to believe. Either digital data is or isn't transferred from one point to another. There isn't a middle ground.
That being said, the Cables to Go Toslink cable does indeed work. It has two things going for it, a lower than average price, and in this case a longer than average length (8' instead of the usual 4'-6'), both of which a big bonuses in the connective cable market.
In short, a recommended product.

Cables to go has always had great QC when it comes to their products and this optical cable is no different. It hits the sweet spot with being a not so ordinary length of 8ft...which to me is perfect so you are not stretching the limits of your cables in your home theater rack. This particular cable is also rubberized and not as rigid as some of the others out in the market....what that means is that it is more flexible and easy to move through your rack space.
Great product, value, and quality.

Cables To Go, 8 foot digital optical cable are fantastic cabling options for all of you Audio/Visual needs. The coiling feels nice and sturdy and maintains its natural shape no matter how often i pulled and rearranged it in different positions. The cable ends snap in with a nice snug click letting you know that the proper connection was achieved. Overall it has a nice quality feel to it and a noticeable improved feel over other such bargain cables. Don't pass these up if you can get them under 10 bucks.
Customer Review: Excellent cable at an even better price Summary: 5 Stars
The title says it all. Good construction and performs every bit as well as 'pro' cabling. The 8 foot range is extremely convenient as well when you're potentially hooking up multiple objects and playing the 'tetris' game of where the heck do I fit everything. The added range on these cables helped to place items in a manner that potentially prevented overheating in my setup due to a lack of ventilation in the usual prime cabling area (within 3-4 feet)
I know this has been done to death, but there is no reason to go the way of Monster and other high end brands with regards to digital technology.
For the most part, these items will either work or they won't. And when they don't work its painfully obvious :)
