Used this cable to hook up laptop to Large Screen TV. Worked Perfectly. Uses older style 15 pin video connection that was available on my Compac Laptop. The TV had lots of options for making connection but also included the same video connection. Both had a 3.5mm audio sound connection as well so I can download youtube videos and play them on my large format tv with good sound using the TV's built in audio system. Just took seconds to connect cables. Took a few minutes to tell the Laptop that I was using a second monitor (XP and Vista can do this.) I can use my large tv as a computer monitor (get a wireless mouse and keyboard if you like.) Play movies using your laptops DVD player. Enjoy!Customer Review: Useful Product

I purchased a 42 inch HD plasma with a PC input thinking I might use it as a monitor some point in the future. I purchased this several months back with another item (VGA / SVGA / Projector Splitter cable with Gold Plated connectors) to hook my lcd vizio tv up to my tower.
I wanted to split my pc monitor to my tv/monitor connection on my lcd to watch netflix etc on tv.
I did some reading and found that as long as you dont go too far w/ cable length it will prob' not degrade and it didnt at this cable length it looks great!
I read in a review somewhere that you must connect all connections at both ends before you evaluate picture quality...and its true if you look at pc monitor when youve only put the splitter to the pc monitor it degrades BUT when connections are completed to tv end its all fine.
I have a two year old pc running xp and its not as fast as the newer vista machines and it does fine I think it came pre loaded w/ nividia video card?
Anyway...if you reset your monitor to match your lcd screen size it even looks better. ( a wireless mouse and keyboard complete the ease too)
If you google a bit and find this may work for you try it you will love it! :o)
And its a fraction of what it would cost to have the new machines in your tv!
