I had to break off pin #1 on the S-Video connector for this cable to work, it was shorting out to pin #3.
Looking into the s-video connector with the locating blade on the bottom pin #1 is the upper right pin.
Now it works great.

I bought this product because my mother wanted to hook her computer to her TV (which wasn't new enough or properly formatted for s-video or VGA). This worked great! It allowed her to extend (or mirror) her desktop to her tv even though she only had two phono (RCA) jacks (which we plugged into) and an RF "F" jack. I bought these when my boyfriend recommended I run my online streaming videos to my TV.
I was a little concerned since I had never done anything like that but they did the job nicely and they're long enough to not limit me to having to sit too near.

I have been using this cable regularly for about two months and it is great. Simply plug the S-video and audio out jacks in to the PC and the other ends to the TV. As soon as I plugged in the cable to my Dell PC, it recognized it immediately and projected the screen on to the TV. I also used it to connect a Dell laptop to the TV, which was just as easy.
An Acer PC took a little more fiddling. The trick is to adjust the PC's display setting to a lower level, to match the TV's resolution, before hooking up the cable.
The cable is long enough to sit on the sofa, hook up a laptop, and watch the home videos on the laptop hard drive. No need to buy a separate media player.
