As advertised, this is a working USB 2.0 extension cable. It costs less than what I would have paid in a retail store.
Also important is that it is truly 2.0, because all USB cables are not created equal. I once bought a cable from a large retail chain. This cable was advertised as "high speed," but when I used it as an extension for my devices, my PC would only recognize those devices as USB 1.1. I.e., slow, and in many cases unusable. I would think that wiring is wiring, but something about the cables is different between USB versions, and that difference is very important to recognize in terms of impact on productivity. I am thankful that this cable is true 2.0.
Currently I use this cable to charge my iPhone when plugged into my iBook G4, so that I can keep the phone on my nightstand even though my computer desk is over 10 feet away. At a later date I plan to use it as an extension for a 2.0 hub for my PC.
Note: the item received is not identical to the picture--the cover does not extend to the top of the female end of the connector. However, this has no effect on the usability of the product.

I ordered two USB extension cords on a Sunday, chose standard shipping, and received my cables on the following Tuesday, excellent and fast. Both cables are pure white in color, and work great with my USB devices. The end that attaches to the port on the PC is not the larger end of the cable- the larger end is the one to attach to the cable from the device, and should not pose a problem, it is no problem for me, as someone else stated they had a problem with the larger end side. The cables work great and are as I pictured them to be. I can now connect to printers across the room and plan to leave my new cables plugged into the back USB ports on my PC machine, and use the larger end of the cables to connect to the cables from my various printers, HDD, and flash drives, etc.Customer Review: Review of - USB A M2F Extension Cable

I purchased one of these thru Cables To Go. Their product number26686 3 meters or 9 2/3 ft) USB A Male to A Female Extension Cable. It was an off-white in colour. No mess, the cable lenght is long enough to extend behind the scenes of my new rather large corner computer desk without having a large bundle of slack cable left over. Speaking of coils, it is durable, resists kinking, but does wrap any extra footage rather nicely when tied off (I am not cheap - I'm just practical) with a couple of breadbag tie-ties.
Low-price Buy - Excellent Product - Purchased online because I was in a hurry to go on vacation, so can't rate Shipping time, but No S&H was a plus. Convenient Seller too!

I bought this extension to charge an ipad 2 and an ipod touch 3G. The ipad was plugged into a wall outlet using this extension and the charger that comes with the ipad. After 10 hours of charging, it had only increased the charge from 30% to 95%. I removed the extension and used just the apple charger and it only took 30 minutes to charge from 95% to 100%. The ipod won't even recognize the extension. I get the "charging is not supported with this device" message when connected. There is nothing wrong, per se, with the product itself, but if you want to charge newer devices, then be advised that it will take a while to accomplish a full charge.Customer Review: Great for Multiple Peripherals Use/Extension

Inexpensive and good quality as it anything I have purhased from "Cables To Go". I have several of these cables which provides me extension and placement of peripheral equipment for both desktop and laptop. It is a male to female connection and can be used with any standard USB connection. Remember if it doesn't meet your needs you can return it and amazon with provide you with the shipping label online to send it back as they do with any of the items you order and most have 14-30 days for such return. However, I think you will like this product and it is usable for many items with USB connections.
