The cable is just the thing for plugging in your Flip Camera into an otherwise inaccessible USB port. The Flip interface works well for laptops, but not so well withdesktops. Flip has a set of 3 cables for $15, but if you don't have 3 cameras it's kind of redundant. This cable was a fraction of price and works fine. I also bought 2 more for hooking in my peripheral USB devices with longer cables that otherwise would stretch and pull out if I need to remove the computer tower from my desk. I bought this more than a year ago for my daughter. She has an ancient laptop that we installed Ubuntu (Linux) on. The old computer didn't have wifi built in and I was concerned that having the USB wireless adapter constantly plugged directly into the portable computer was an accident waiting to happen. This gets the adapter out of the way without being unmanageable, but it still works great. It feels solid and has held up to portable use very well.Customer Review: Flip + Mac + this cable = NO GO

I purchased this cable to connect my flip video camcorder to my iMac. When I do, my computer recognizes the camcorder and starts the Flip software, but it cannot upload the video files from the camcorder. Fortunately, I had another cable (for an Olympus audio digital recorder) that does work.
At this price, I decided to keep this cable rather than pay for shipping to return it. I hope that it will prove useful for another purpose.

I purchased these cables to use with my Flip camcorder. Much less expensive than the Flip brand cables and they work as advertised. I suggest you get cables for your Flip to save the USB connection on the camcorder. The Flip is very awkward to connect to a desktop computer and puts a strain on the USB connection. The cables solve that problem. You can place the Flip camcorder in a safe position when transferring videos.Customer Review: Works fine

The cheap computer I bought did not have a USB outlet in the front of the computer, and only had one open USB in the back. Well, I don't intend to crawl under the desk every time I want to connect something by USB. I plugged one end of this in the back of my computer, and then taped the cord to the top of the computer where I could reach the other end easily. Not pretty, but better this than the alternative.
