Customer Review: Simple... Works... PC Speakers on my DVD Player

I recently purchased Hercules XPS Lounge 2.1 speakers seeing them get a great review on pcmag.com. I thought they would be a great and inexpensive way to bring better sound to my 23" lcd in the living room.
The speakers only had a 1/8" (3.5mm) connector on them though; and I knew from the outset that I would need an adapter. After spending hours driving around town to bestbuy and radio shack, I ended up thinking that I would have to break down and make the cable myself. But before I bought the odds and ends to make the cable I used the Amazon app on my blackberry to double check to see if they had something available.
It took 2 or 3 tries to get the wording down as to what exactly I was looking for, but in the end I came across this.
It also had the added bonus of prime shipping so I got it in 2 days.
So 5 stars for saving me the headache of making one of the myself, and another 6th star for shipping it to me for free /w 2nd day air.

Customer Review: Are these supposed to be stereo?

I bought 3 of these to connect the analog outputs of my Samsung Blu-ray player to my Logitech 5.1 computer speaker system. The physical connection felt ok, but when I ran the speaker test, things were not ok. Only one of the front speakers got a signal, while both surround speakers got a signal at the same time. I switched the cables around every which way, and got nothing but improper sound output to the various speakers and subwoofer.
I then found some better quality cables of the same type that stated "stereo" on the package at a local store for $3.89 each, just slightly more than I paid for these after shipping. After swapping them in I ran the speaker test on the Samsung player again, and got correct sound out of all 5 speakers and the subwoofer.
Since I got these cables for$.62 each plus $2.99 non-refundable shipping each, they weren't worth returning.
Bottom Line: ***tty cables
Customer Review: Solution to sound coming from both t.v. and headphones

I wanted to play games quietly but my tv didn't have a headphone jack. So I bought these to get around that problem and they work very well. One problem though is that it exchanges my left earphone for my right, but I just switch the colors around (red in white and white in red).
Some helpful advice:
1. Your tv has to have red and white "audio out" ports (usually in the back)
2. Like me, you may need a headphone extension cord. My headphones are a little short so my face is 2 feet away from the tv screen.
3. Many of you may run into a little problem where sound is coming from both the headphones and the tv which kinda defeats the purpose of the headphones. My solution was to turn the tv sound all the way down while the headphones were still plugged in. For some reason the sound for the tv speakers go down but not the headphones.

I've found this product to perform perfectly for my purpose: connecting a good pair of headphones to my HDTV and the Xbox 360 so that I can listen through them instead of the built-in speakers. I gave this product a four star rating overall because the jack seems pretty tight and may possibly cause stripping of the cable over time, and the jack may fall out over time from the pulling force. If this happens, it will probably be over a long period of time and use, and I don't know for certain that it will become a problem at all. As far as the sound quality, I don't have any real reason to complain, but my experience with the sound thus far has not been thorough enough to give it a five star rating, though it may actually be worthy of it. If I had a choice, I would probably rate this product at 4.5 star rating. Definitely a lot of bang for the buck.Customer Review: Great for hooking up PC speakers to your TV

In a modern day where picture quality is amazing, sound quality on most LCD televisions are not that great. Decent, but not that great. This adapter will solve all your issues if your TV doesnt have a headphone jack. Just plug it into your TV's red and white stereo audio out, and connect some PC speakers to it!
I myself use this to hook up my TV to PC speakers for gaming. When it comes to television shows, the default sound from the TV speakers are good enough, but when it comes to movies and gaming, I really like to turn the PC speakers on for the better clarity and bass from my 2.1 system.

Small, light weight.
Easy to use.
Improves sound quality when watching TV
Works on nearly any LCD TV
