Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CTA Digital Sound Stage Speaker with Docking Station for iPod (White)Customer Review: Good buy Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered this speaker dock for my husband for Christmas. It was one of least expensive ones I saw and it got really good reviews. The only complaint that I have about it is the the adaptor that came with it for the new iPod Nano does not seem to work. You cannot press the iPod in far enough for it to make a connection with the speaker. To solve this problem, I just don't use an adaptor at all - I plug the iPod directly onto the speaker. This works fine when the speaker is placed on a flat surface where it is not going to be disturbed. I wouldn't recommend doing this if it is in a place where it will be bumped into as the iPod could fall off or be damaged.
Customer Review: Not bad at all Summary: 4 Stars
It's a small speaker system for the Ipod, don't expect a great loud sound, it's good for small rooms or closed areas. If you are with a couple of friends and want to put what I call "back music" it's very good because you can talk and laugh with your friends and hear the music in the back. Don't think you can have a party and dance with a great speaker sound and play music loud, it doesn't work that way. Sometimes you push the power button when it's on and doesn't turn off; you have to disconnect physically the plug from the wall. A very good thing as everybody has said before is that while you're playing your music you're charging your Ipod
Customer Review: Cheap Knock-off Summary: 3 Stars
This is a knock-off of the JBL - On Stage II. I purchased this speaker to see if the 3 watts per channel would sound close to the smaller JBL On Stage Micro Portable (2 watts per channel) model. I compared it with the one my neighbor has and it does not come close. While it also accommodates other MP3 players, I was surprised to learn that it does not have batteries - rechargeable or regular. It's AC only and therefore not that portable. Since I only paid $28 for it, it's as good as anything in the less than $28 market. I returned it the same day I got it ... and now I'm hoping that I get a prompt refund of my money.
Customer Review: Wish I could review this product... Summary: 1 Stars
I really wish I could review this specific product, but when I placed my order, the seller substutited a "comparable product without the name brand" in its place, and so I never got this particular item.
I think it's really lame that sellers can just sub in another product and not send you notice. I got a similar item, but not the one I ordered and I didn't even have the option to say whether or not I would accept a substituted item.
I'm confused why the price for the item was the same if what I received didn't have the name brand...I guess you really don't pay for a name after all.
Customer Review: good for quiet office use Summary: 4 Stars
The sound quality is fine for my purposes, which is low volume in an office setting. The directions are very simple, and the device is easy to use. Adapters plug in without problem. The only flaw--which does get annoying--is that the volume control is push-button rather than dial, so when you wish to lower the volume, you must repeatedly press the lower volume button, which is not easy to do rapidly, as the button is hard to push with audible clicks each time. The volume control on the iPod itself doesn't work while in the cradle. Otherwise, it works fine, and the charging feature is a nice touch.
