Customer Review: You Get What You Pay For!!

I took a chance and bought this even though I saw the bad reviews. I thought to myself "it's only a dollar, if it dies in a month or two like the reviews say, I will just get something else because this does have some good reviews...." This completely ruined my Ipod Classic 80 gig. My Ipod was 1 month old, I had to return it and get a refurbished one because of this!!
It shipped to me real quick so I was happy, then i took it out of the packaging and right away charged my Ipod to a full battery relatively quickly, still happy. Then I went to listen to my Ipod.... Every single song was complete static! I restored it to factory settings and reloaded with the same problem. I took it back to apple who restored it again and put their music on it and they got the same results!
I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to warn anybody who is on the fence about buying this.

I have used this charger about 8 times on my nano (3rd gen) and it seems to be working fine. A downside is that it can take more than 6 hrs to fully charge when you have little battery left on the ipod. UPDATE: my brand-new ipod started crashing and freezing not long after I got it and I hold these malfunctions to be this charger's fault. My ipod has even 'blacked-out' for days after using this charger. My ipod is fine if I use my apple charger (computer one), but it freaks out after using this one, probably because this charger has no way of stopping the charging process w/o unplugging the whole thing from the outlet. This sudden disconnect probably is a cause of my ipod's various issues. In conclusion, the ruin of my ipod stemmed from this charger and the abrupt disconnect problems sure didn't help any. I would not recommend this charger to anyone.Customer Review: Funny sound, loose connection

The three stars are mostly because this was cheap and arrived quickly.
Unlike the photos, the charger that arrived wasn't in plastic packaging (which I suppose you could call a plus), and it looked slightly different - a short, wide plug.
If works, but what drives me crazy is that when it's plugged in, it makes a shrill, high-pitched tone, like those anti-mosquito devices. Supposedly you can't hear these frequencies when you're older, but I'm 24 and it was bothersome enough that I had to move it away from my night stand.
Also, when it's plugged into my iPod touch, the connection is loose, so I can't even hold the iPod in my hand without it disconnecting and reconnecting several times.
All in all, obviously cheaply made, but very cheap. Fine as a second or travel charger.

My computer is jammed with chargers for a cell phone, a Blackberry, a calculator...the last thing I needed was ANOTHER USB charger for my iPod.
What I like about this charger are two things: first that it is for a wall outlet, and, second, that the length of the cord is such that I don't have to put the iPod on the floor (as I have had problems with other technology). It is long enough to reach my bureau or desk and does its job well.
I have not used it too many times since I purchased it, so I am curious as to how it will fare in the long term. One thing to note is that the prongs do not collapse into the charger unit, so it does not store "flat." Be aware if your primary use will be because of travel. Otherwise, I love what I have so far! Hopefully it will continue to perform so well!

This charger is a simple and effective means of replenishing the batteries on every iPod in your home, from the old thick classic to the new sleek Nano. It offers convenience at a budget minded price with a few utility aspects. It has a solid construction and a handy power indicator. It is styled in traditional Apple iPod white, following suit with most major components and accessories. The only negative, if you consider it one, would be that this component is not made by Apple; does not have that famous logo like the rest of your parts.
I have not had any problems with mine in one month of steady use. In summary, if you are looking for a easy way to charge your iPod and you are not concerned with keeping every component branded Apple, then this charger is going to be good for you.
