I used to have a 512mb pendrive that I carried along and a 40GB HDD for mass storage but with this 8GB USB pendrive, I can forget about that and still have enough space to store everything. The rubber case is pretty awesome and being waterproof and shock resistant, makes it much more secure. The Crypting software that comes with the unit is also pretty useful as it lets you keep your most important data under a safe folder which nobody can access but you. I like the capacity and the write speed. It worked fine on a Mac G4 desktop but failed
repeatedly on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.4.9 during an overseas trip.
The worst error diagnostic was "cannot unmount drive" - which meant device
had to be initialized & reformatted, losing all data. This typically happened
upon trying to save updated files; apparently rewrite destroys the
internal file structure. All in all, a $100 waste.

I really like this flash drive because I usually take it to everywhere in my key chain along with my set of keys where there is much probability of being hit or scratched or even in contact with liquids, but the rubber case and the rugged outside of the drive makes it fine for that traveling purposes. The transfer rate is fast, so I must say the performance is very good. I really do recommend it if you need big capacity, good transfer rate and handling ease.Customer Review: Quality Product

This is my second USB drive from Corsair, and my satisfaction with their product is strong. The rugged design with rubber casing is meant for the IT professional on the go. My other flash drive survived three wash cycles and several other rugged bumps. It has a great warranty, and my prior flash drive was replaced by Corsair when the usb connector got damaged, without any questions. My only regret was that the 16GB model came out a month after my purchase.Customer Review: Slower than Advertised

The product description says 12MB/sec which implies 12 megabytes per second. Other reviews even say it is faster than this. In my testing I usually get 3MB/sec with a confirmed EHCI "High Speed" USB port. This is much slower than advertised.
Aside from the slower speed, it seems fine, but I do worry that I will lose the cap one day.
UPDATE: It failed after a few months. It seems to easily overheat inside that rubber case.
