Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CHEETAH MOUNTS PLASMA LCD TV ARTICULATING DUAL ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 32-63" DISPLAYS UP TO 165LBS BLACKCustomer Review: Great bracket, substandard mounting hardware Summary: 3 StarsI really like the Cheetah mount, but the mounting hardware leaves much to be desired. We mounted our 75 pound, 50in Plasma TV to the wall, following the instructions and using the supplied mounting hardware. The mount stayed on the wall for about 2 weeks. The plastic sinkers pulled out of the wall and the TV (including additional weight from the bracket crashed to the floor. The TV is a total loss, but I still have a rock solid bracket to remount to the wall, if I decide to get another flat screen TV.
Customer Review: Great wall mount! Summary: 5 StarsFor the money, I haven't seen a better quality wall mount. I read other reviews indicating that users replaced some of the included hardware with nuts, bolts, etc. purchased from a local hardware store. I was able to use the hardware included in the box, and it worked just fine. After bolting the frame to the wall, and before mounting the television, I pulled down on it with enough force to assure that the television would hold firmly. I had no doubts. The mount itself is constructed of high quality, heavy metal. That is just what I was looking for. The articulating feature works nicely and doesn't move unless the user applies lots of pressure. I am thrilled with the performance of the mount.
Customer Review: Very sturdy, Easy to mount Summary: 4 StarsI ordered this for my plasma 50" and I was surprised at how heavy it was. It's pretty well-built. The installation was easy, though don't let yourself think it will take an hour. I consider myself pretty handy with a hammer and screwdriver, and as long as you can handle basic do-it-yourself projects, it should only take 2-3 hours. Included in that time was mounting recessed gang boxes and fishing cables through wall, though. It gives several methods for mounting to either drywall(with drywall mounts, though it would be a little heavy to mount in drywall alone, in my opinion), directly into the studs(method I used) and also masonry anchors and bolts. They even included 2 levels so it helps to keep the mount level when mounting to wall.
Once it was up on the wall, we attached the TV and I can only say that I had to hold my breath waiting for the TV to drop, but much to my pleasant surprise, it was firmly attached to wall. Just a note here....when installing this mount and the TV to it, you will need 2 people to do the job. THIS IS NOT A 1 PERSON JOB!!!!!
The TV mount does sag a little when it's extended, but I didn't notice any problems with stability.
I recommend this, but I am no engineer, nor am I a professional installer so for all of you lawyer types, please just take this as a recommendation as to my experience and not an endorsement. (You can never be too sure these days who will sue you. This is just an opinion.)
Customer Review: Good mount, don't expect full extension Summary: 4 Stars
I used this mount to hang my 46 inch Panasonic Plasma. You may have other issues with other TVs so keep that in mind.
This mount went up as promised and mounted to the wall without too much hassle. You have to be slightly proficient at home projects to be able to find studs, drive the lag screws into the studs and keep everything level. The mounting plate has a level built in, but mine was not level itself, so I ignored it and used my own.
The first set of parts that I received were assembled incorrectly and I had to ask for a new set. I received a new set in the mail within days though, so bravo to the company for fixing their mistake ASAP.
Getting the attachments mounted to the TV was very easy. The included screws fit perfectly on my Panasonic.
I mounted the TV in the corner and put it at a 45 degree angle in the corner of the room. This worked out fine, but with one exception: if you extend either of the arms fully, the TV will sag to one side and will not be level. This might happen because the fully extended arm is not strong enough to keep that side of the TV up. But, it also could be a construction issue and happen to anyone that fully extends either arm. Again, this may be different if you have a lighter TV, but it didn't work out for mine to be that way. In the end it didn't matter, because my space was small enough to keep both arms from being extended fully. If you mounted this where one arm absolutly had to be extended fully, you might need to offset the wall plate to compensate, but this would mean the TV would be slanted the opposite way when the arms are not fully extended.
Bottom line: Good customer service: responded well to my e-mail requesting replacement parts, sent the parts 2nd day air when they realized their mistake. Sturdy mount, but may have tilt issue if you want to fully extend the arms.
Customer Review: Great Mount Summary: 5 StarsI install Home Theater Systems as well as VERY HI END Conference Rooms for the Government, it the past I have used Chief and Premier Mounts that cost 4 times what I paid for this one. The others don't have a built in level nor the capability to level the display on the arm should the mount be slightly off level (which somehow our facilities folks seem to manage to do more often than not at my office). Great product, I'll be back for more!
