Customer Review: Worth the upgrade from the twist stick

The CH Pro Pedals add a lot of realism to the flight simulator experience. It took a few sessions to de-program myself from wanting to twist the throttle stick (my rudder control before getting the Pro Pedals). The pedals allow you to get that muscle memory and familiarity with the real world controls. When I first started using them, I intuitively wanted to push the right foot forward to go left, as if I was controlling a steering wheel with my feet or driving a tank. I'd hate to make a beginner mistake like that on a real plane! The pedals are of good quality, a little heavier than expected which helps them stay in place even on some carpets. I agree with some of the comments about the pedals being a little close together - I would like them farther apart. I also think the cord in the back should not stick directly out from the back, as it will be stressed if you have a tendency to push the pedal base against a wall. Overall recommended for anyone looking to enhance the realism of their flight simulator experience.Customer Review: Usefulness limited by poor marketing decision

As confirmed by CH tech support, they have decided to make their products incompatible with other manufacturer's products. Trying to get me to spend an extra $100+ to replace my existing excellent Logitech joystick just to get their pedals to work is not a good way to get extra business. Instead, I'm sending these back. Hopefully, they will learn (as many others in the industry have) that trying to lock customers in to buying only your products doesn't get you more customers in the long run. Most people will choose a non-proprietary solution when they can.

"You are correct it was a marketing and sales decision to have Control Manager only combine our controllers. We of course are a business and would like to make a profit as well as produce quality product, so we do such things to prompt potential customers to buy our products. There are no future plans for allowing Control Manager to combine other brand controllers. "

I bought these pedals from Amazon using the free super savings shipment but received the pedals in the mail the very next day. I bought them for my Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and they work great with it! Before buying these, I just used a joystick for the simulator until I spoke with a pilot who told me that he read in his aviator magazines that if you get rudders and a yoke, the simulator is can be very close to the real flying experience.
Well, I have only been behind the yoke and pedals of a small plane once so I can't compare it to that. But I do know that these pedals have greatly increased my satisfaction with FS2004 and gives me much better control of the planes. The pedals feel like they were built to last and work really well. I highly recommend them to increase your flight simulator experience. I also later bought the CH Products Yoke from Amazon and along with the pedals, I am a happy customer.

Hi All,
Well I am sorry I havent gotten back to you all, but as I said I would get back to you on the CH Rudder Pedals. Well here we go, If I keep buying CH Products I will have to buy stock in the company. The Rudder Pedals are the latest addition to my flight experience. Wow it make's flying really realistic. These pedals are easy to set up, it just took me a couple of minutes. I am just flying right now,but you can use then for driving too. I pull tighter turns and out gun my opponent. My friends are mad because they know it the equipment not the pilot but I tell them its both. But I am top dog right now. So I tell them to suck it up and fork out some cash. You want the best well it going to cost you. Do you know any CH Products not expensive? But they are all worth the money. If you are not using CH Products then you are left in the dust or down in flames... CH Products ROCKS!!!

This unit functioned as advertised and took no knowledge to install. It is being used with Microsofts's Flight Simulator X and it was plug in the USB cable and start flying. The pilot's legs get a bit fatigued because there seems to be a different angle from a real cockpit. A different computer seat helps relieve the condition. The pedals don't have quite the same feedback as the real thing but that was expected, its a computer not a Cessna. No real complaints, it adds a lot of realism and allows forward and side slips as well as realistic spin recovery. The unit is heavy enough to pretty much stay positioned on the floor and is light enough to easily move out of the way when not flying. Have only tried the unit with light aircraft so don't know how it funtions with the heavys or the choppers. Probably won't try them as I know that if it doesn't have a propeller, it can't fly.
