Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CH Products Pro Pedals USB Flight Simulator Pedals ( 300-111 )

Customer Review: Best Pedals for the money and AMERICAN MADE.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using the CH Pro Pedals for nearly a year without any problems at all. I also use the CH Pro Throttle and CH Fighterstick for my HOTAS set up and they all work great together. I fly IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and my CH set up works great for this game. I appreciate the quality of craftsmanship built into CH products and have heard many other virtual pilots complaining about their Chinese products falling apart or other tech issues where the CH users don't seem to have nearly as many issues with their products experiencing hardware break downs. The pedals are nice and smooth and stay firmly planted on my carpeted floor. I would strongly suggest any virtual pilot use CH products to avoid the hardware break down issues I am always hearing other pilots complaining about. They may not have pretty blue lights and fancy led screens but, they will far out last those Chinese pieces of junk and provide years of gaming enjoyment for you. See you in the not so friendly skies of IL2 1946 mate and if you see DD_Logos on your six you had better hope your hardware doesn't malfunction. Good flying.

Customer Review: "Total Control True Realism"
Summary: 5 Stars

Hi I have been flight siming for quite sometime and recently made the Jump to real world piloting both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. The fellas I fly fixed wing with and my instructor for rotary aircraft all agree that my use of flight programs with this equipment has translated into a more fluid, focused training experience. The only thing one does not quite experience is the actual mechanical tactile elements and forces of "G" associated with real world flying. Otherwise When in X-Plane, FX or 2004 Microsoft programs you are real as you program it. This is also true of older Ubisoft titles which fly well and much more acurately than with Logitech controller Sticks. Logitech has just come out with controllers like Ch-Products and Saitek. The Jury is not in on these yet. Try landing on the pitching deck of a carrier in Lomac IL2 or Pacific fighters. You`ll get a real thrill/chill and a sense of accomplishment. Especially when battle dam-aged I love CH-Products READ what you can do W/CMS Software. We have Joy Lt Scott St. John

Customer Review: Great pedals at a good price.
Summary: 4 Stars

I had to upgrade my regular CH Pedals to the Pro-Pedal version because of the phasing out of the gameport connections to USB connections. I used the Pedals for many years and have been quite satisfied with them. That is why I am sticking with CH Products. My only trouble is that the old style pedals only pivoted on a rocker whereas the new Pro-Pedals slide back and forth like real pedals do. They also have pivot on a rocker for using the toe brakes. After using the Pedals for so many years without the slider effect, I am having a hard time retraining my brain and feet to slide the pedals for rudder control. In the heat of battle my reactions go back to what I have been doing for so long. Time will cure that I'm sure. Another reviewer mentioned the pedals slide on carpeting which I have also found to be a problem. I suppose that would be a problem for any pedal setup though unless they were mounted. Velcro may be a quick fix. Team these pedals up with a CH Combatstick or Fighterstick and a Pro-Throttle and you can't go wrong.

Customer Review: Good, but could easily be better
Summary: 3 Stars

For us guys flying the smaller types of General Aviation aeroplanes like e.g. Piper PA28 and Cessna 172, the pedals are not so realistic. This is because in such aeroplanes, your heels are placed on the floor, and not on the pedals. In the real world, only the frontmost part of the foot is placed on the pedals for rudder control during flight. The Pro Pedals require the whole foot to be placed on (or actually "in") the pedal, which gives an awkward non-realistic non-relaxed feeling.

But once you have gotten used to this, the pedals work very well.

My pedals came with an irritating error, though. When applying rudder pressure on the right rudder pedal, the toe brake action also sets in (differential brake action). I can't get around this problem even after calibration and adjustment of the null zone. I haven't sent the pedals back to CH Products for replacement yet, so I can't say anything about the customer service.

One thing is for sure: Amazon sells these pedals at a very competitive price.

Customer Review: Very Good Addition
Summary: 4 Stars

The CH pro Pedals is an excellent addition to the flight control of advanced users. The uneventful use is fine with one acception. The to foot slide is not in unison with the other in braking during landing. The force can cause you to skid. You must pump brake for control as you would in car to control this but. the best way is to work at holding brakes both down at once with one other acception. The brakes are very sensitive to push even with out intending to. The way to stop this is technical. You must adjust the rollers in tooth of each foot by one tooth. This will give you the play you need to give you the dimmer switch jiggle before activation for bright lights in a car. The other way is to try and get the Windows sensitivity to slow this down by adjusting this play there. Slowing sensitivity may not stop activation just pressure on this. The experimentation may be your best bet on this. Ask the service folks at CH if you do not feel comfortable with the pedal adjustment I made. The unit feels just like the real thing then.
