Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB ( 200-615 )Customer Review: Works Great w/ my MSFS2004 Summary: 5 Stars
I really wanted a yoke for FS2004 - I use that program to practice IFR flight. When I discovered that USB yokes are $very expensive - I was very disapointed - then I found these CH products. Sure it is plastic - but it is well worth it I believe. I almost did not buy it because of reviews here, but I am sure glad I did. XP recognized the yoke right away - and there was no need for a software installation. (I guess the CD that ships with the yoke is for lesser Windows Versions). I then launched FS2004 and sure enough - it recognized the CH Yoke and had already set up all of the assignments for all buttons and levers. Took off from ORH and loved the product from that moment . . .I am sure the "real" yokes are better, but who the hell wnats to spend that much money. . . .next I plan on purchasing their rudder pedals.
Customer Review: DESK SIM AS REAL AS IT GET'S Summary: 5 Stars
Flight Yoke from CH Products is very compact, fun, easy to set up and use outta the box, tried to use it with out rudder pedals, was ok but not realistic enough. Have both now, and am experiencing a ton of fun,can feel each axis as it is moved, allowing me to almost feel the motions of flight, very entertaining. I put my computer on a slant, mounted the yoke to the edge of the desk, removed a shelf under the desk top and have the rudder pedals in position as in any airplane, can sit for hours flying. I recommend CH Products, yoke construction, rudder pedal construction seam well suited together, movement of both is smooth,& precise.plus the price is right....... Oh Yeah, the Clamps to hold down the yoke to a desk are included, had to find a a wood block tho, to take up the space between desk and Review: A poor choice for instrument work Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this and the CH Products rudder pedals to practice my instrument work. Other reviews mentioned that the control column does not return very well to a neutral position, with regard to pitch. Believe me, this is a major shortcoming of this product, and in IMC, you'll be searching all over for the correct control column position to control pitch. On the plus side, it does make you speed up your instrument scan, but it's a major pain. I tried flying a holding pattern today, and most of my attention was devoted to pitch and altitude. Even in the absence of wind and turbulence, the simulated plane flies like it's going through updrafts and downdrafts. Forget using elevator trim - the real issue is where do you have the control column positioned. I'm replacing this product. I wasted my money on it.
Customer Review: If you're flying a sim, you need this yoke Summary: 5 Stars
Most of us flying are using the traditional yokes, and this is an excellent addition to any flight simulator used under that context. I had Microsoft's Sidewinder prior to this, and though I didn't want to break down and pay the extra money for a "real" flight yoke, I can say that it is absolutely worth every dime. Super easy to set up with FS2004 (and hopefully 06 when it comes out), and such realistic characteristics it's amazing. I'm currently doing IFR training, and this is proving to be quite valuable to me for shooting approaches. I'm learning procedures I can use for setting up approaches without having to burn the avgas! My investment in this will pay for itself in less training time in the aircraft, I don't know how I flew Sim so long without it. Can't wait to get the pedals, that's next!!
Customer Review: Yoke Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this Flight Sim Yoke since it was delivered. Couldn't wait to get it out of the box. I am interested in flying and asked other people what they thought would be a good product. Also saw this at the EAA Show in Oshkosh, WI. People were purchasing it then. I couldn't put it in my luggage as I was flying commercial so decided to buy it here at Amazon. I am very pleased with it. It is sensitive and does what it says it will do.
I was disappointed, however, that there were no set of instructions with it so I had to fly by the seat of my pants before I could get the hang of it.
Also, the two hooks that are used to brace it on the desk do not have sufficient adjustments to make it stable enough.
Overall, I do like the Yoke and would recommend it to anyone.
