Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CH Products Flight Sim Yoke USB ( 200-615 )Customer Review: The yoke has a problem. Summary: 1 Stars
I have the CH Yoke and Pedals. The yoke has a problem with its plastic shaft that is controlled by springs. It's almost impossible to obtain the neutral point. In fact the "pull-push" friction caused by the plastic-over-plastic (plastic shaft sliding in plastic housing) doesn't give any precision during the flight simulation. I am sure that for that price a better design should be a must. I am a General Aviation pilot and when practicing IFR procedures requiring precision in terms of altitude I feel really frustrated and my first impression is to deal with a toy.
Customer Review: CH Products Flight Sim Yoke (USB) Summary: 1 Stars
The mechanical design is somehow flawed. I expected the yoke to slide back and forward with ease and return to center when released. The movement should be on ball bearings for the price of the product. Instead, the yoke return position (controlled by springs, I am guessing) stopped anywhere in a +/- 0.5 inch location. The simulators I use react to this movement and I am constantly correcting. Maybe I some how received a product that slipped through QC. I am dissappointed. I could design one better than the one I purchased and cannot recommend this product.
Customer Review: The REAL DEAL Summary: 5 Stars
My husband has a cessna 150 but is checked out on many planes which are no longer available to rent in our area. This with the pedals and the simulator he is pleased as punch. He now can fly anytime, anywhere and in all conditions. He told me it's just like flying the real deal.
ps. I bought this setup for him for Fathers Day. He has his own computer just for flying. Oh yes our grandkids just love it when he gives them a flying lesson with it.
One More Thing NOW they need to offer a reasonably priced HOOD to inhance the flying experiance.
Customer Review: AWESOME Summary: 4 Stars
this flight yoke is the best out there for such a price with or without rudder pedals. i gave it a 4 our of 5 because the throttle and other levers are placed in a weird position so that you'd have to twist your hand through and around the yoke to get them which may cause a bit of a delay in your throttle control...its difficult on landing. also the stick doesnt turn a 90 degrees like most real yokes but i guess thats to make it a little easier for the average simmer. over all its a great buy and a solid product. ch lives up to its reputation for me!
Customer Review: Great realism! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm far from being a private pilot but after I took an introductory flight around Houston the bug bit me. In this flight the pilot let me fly a little cessna around once we were airborne. I rushed home and picked up MS Flight Sim along with this Yoke. When it arrived, I was amazed out how much this felt like the actually yoke I had used, minus the weight factor. It's easy to mount and move around, and configuring it on Win XP was a snap. I was very impressed with the quality of this product and will probably by the rudder pedals in the future.
