Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of CH Products Fighterstick USB

Customer Review: Awsome
Summary: 5 Stars

I recently bought this Fighter Stick and it was worth every cent. IL-2 runs great on it and Microsoft 2004, Lock On and other games I have. I have many joysticks before and always wanted this one. But it was a toss up with the Thustmaster joystick and the CH Fighter stick. After reading reviews like mine I was convince that I made the right choice. The only bad thing I seen so far was the price. But it true what you pay is what you get. I also got the USB Throttle Controler too. And just recently order the CH Rudder Pedals. My flight sims and taken on a whole new era. All I can say get this product, but setting up the product with the games can be tricky. So be patient with the setup menu in the games. I have had some problems in figure out. But what I done so far, has been worth every minute. I high recommend this product and all CH Product. If you are into Flight sims like me, get the edge and take the fight to them. Now I want to really fly.

Customer Review: So you want a good stick?
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a very good stick. Solidly built and the only things keeping this from a 5 star rating are these problems:

1. If you have never used the software for programming this stick or other CH Products before, be prepared to spend some time figuring it out. It is a real pain and there are easier ways of getting the results that you want. Read the CH forums for information on programming this stick.

2. The pinkie finger button near the bottom of the handle can be inadvertently pressed in the heat of combat. As a result, I found it better for myself not to program any actions to it.

3. The elevator and aleiron trim wheels are not easy to use in flight if your right handed as you have to reach across with your left hand to set the desired trim.

Other than these three items, this is the best stick I've ever used for air combat sims.

Customer Review: CH does it again!
Summary: 4 Stars

Great stick for games that support switch buttons. Not so great for games that don't. To better discribe this, it's three push buttons(for most games) and the others are switch hats that control a lot of fighter games, but not space sims or other kinds of joystick related games. I can use it on an F16 sure, but I want to use it on my other games as well. X2 The Threat doesn't support or recognize switch hats as buttons nor the rudders I got with this stick. Thier are about 32 commands, but you have to program them in and that is with the toggle and hat switches combined, not just the push buttons. The stick is made of polycarb and is tough as nails, but it needs to support more games. No problems installing stick or downloadable software. Works great in Sturmovik except needs better set up in the game it'self but thats a game issue.

Customer Review: Very solid stick
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this together with the rudders and throttle after many months of research. I'd previously had Thrustmaster F16 FLQS and F16 TQS and the FLQS had lost accuracy very quickly and didn't impress, so I wasn't in a hurry to buy the Cougar. I'd had a CH Flightstick years ago and still remembered that as a solid, no-nonsense controller that worked everytime.

The new generation of CH Products is just as good. This stick will last for a very long time, is solidly constructed and easy to program (just press the button on the controller and enter the key that you want to assign to it).

I haven't fully exploited the capabilities yet - as with all of these HOTAS sticks, it takes some time working out what you want to assign to each button. Perhaps some pre-supplied maps would have been nice.

Customer Review: very precise and durable
Summary: 5 Stars

It's everything you expect from a CH product. Its amazingly precise and built like a tank. The Fighterstick USB is one of those products that helps you achieve a higher level of play. Be warned though that this stick is definitely made for larger hands. My hand dimensions are as follows: 7 3/4" from end of middle finger to wrist. 3 1/2" wide across the palm. Thumb length is 2 3/4". I can reach everything without too much trouble, but the top (8-way) hat switch and the top button is a bit of a stretch. This joystick could have benefited from an adjustable hand-rest like those found on the Saitek sticks. I still give this product 5 stars because it works flawlessly, has never lost calibration, its durable, and its the most technically precise joystick I've ever used.
