This type of cable is difficult to find in stores. The dock connection allows your car stereo, etc. to receive line-level input, which makes for a clean signal and distortion-free music output. As others have mentioned, the only downside is that the connections aren't gold-plated like the picture indicates. For a normal music lover, I doubt you could tell the difference. Hooking up AV stuff and making it work is something I do for fun and I could not get the iPhone 3Gs to play through the car stereo with this cable. I set the car stereo to Aux input jack, plugged one end into the car and the other into the phone and the sound still came out of the phone speaker no matter what I did with the settings. If someone can tell me what to do to get it to work I'll buy it again but for now I'm returning it.Customer Review: Ipod AUX Cable

This product works very well.
At first I thought it was no good because it did not charge my ipod, but then I came to realize that I do not want to leave my ipod in my car, so why not bring it in every night to charge? Sounds good to me, you never know when someone may break into your car, even steal it. Leaving an ipod seating around could be the cause. Well, it sounds great, just wish it was in black, but thats all.

At last I found the Aux cable for my car's input for my Ipod - the Ipod sound quality is great - I can navigate easily through my Ipod library. I looked everywhere in stores for this cable - the sales folks had no idea what I was talking about - of course sold me a Ipod FM Transmitter(worked horribly). The cable length is perfect - my daughter can attach her Ipod from the backseat if she wants to listen to her library.Customer Review: Nice addition to my new car

This is the single best way to take advantage of your iPod in your car. The line-out signal is superior to the headphone output, expecially when needing that line-level output(like in a car)! It is popular, so be careful. I unplugged my iPod from my car but left the jack...the jack was stolen and nothing else was. After this review, I'm going to order another and not leave it plugged in to the outlet. Enjoy!
