Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables To Go 35508 iPod-Compatible 3.5 mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable (4 Feet)Customer Review: Works great in my KIA Soul Summary: 5 Stars
I got this cable for Christmas and used it right away in my car. I had been using a connecter that went from the headphone jack to the aux connector and had to have the volume on my iPod turned all the way up. With this cable, I can have the iPod volume all the way down and the sound is perfect from my car radio. It is a great length for the car, not too long and not too short. Totally great cable to use in your car to listen to your iPod.
Edit: I recently purchased a new iPod Nano and can't seem to figure out how to use this with the new iPod. The sound comes through the iPod rather then the car stero when I have it plugged in. I'm wondering if it is a setting on the iPod that needs to be corrected.
Customer Review: Awesome Product! Couldn't be happier! Summary: 5 Stars
I searched in vain in stores like Target, RadioShack, BestBuy, etc. for a cable like this and no one had one (sales people told me it didn't exist). Then I disovered this cable thru Amazon and ordered it. I couldn't be happier with the sound quality. I get terrific stereo sound thru the line-out connection and I can not tell the difference between the iPod and the same song on CD (note that I compress all of my MP3s at high quality level - 256kps to 392kps). Make sure you turn the iPod's "sound check" function to "on" to avoid distortion thru the car speakers and to get consistent volume between songs and with the other stereo components (e.g., CD).
Great product!
Customer Review: Not Compatible with all IPODS Summary: 1 Stars
The cable arrived in great condition and was exactly what I wanted. However my IPOD NANO version 5 did not recognize it and continued to play music over the internal speaker instead of sending through the cord to my car's auxiliary input. I went to Best Buy and bought a cable that works with a NANO version 5 and everything worked perfectly so it was definitely this cable that caused the problem. Nothing in the advertising indicates a need to be version specific but at Best Buy all the docking items listed what versions they were compatible with. The on-line literature needs to be more specific to ensure the cord is purchased for an IPOD that it actually is designed to work with.
Customer Review: Simple, functioning cable. Summary: 5 Stars
If you just need a cable for your ipod nano 4th gen for a line out signal to a mini connector for use in your front car auxiliary port, then this cable has exactly what you need and nothing that you don't.
The cable is just the right length so you can confortably find the songs you need on your ipod while it's connected to your car aux port, without a bunch of additional cable snaking over your console and/or seat.
If you're looking for a cable that charges your ipod and allows you to connect it to an audio input at the same time, this cable is not for you, but if you don't mind relying in the battery power then this cable is perfectly fine.
Customer Review: ipod dock cord works perfectly!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a hard product to find! No one sells it in storefronts in my area. So, I turned to online dealers. Product works awesome; however mine came with no instructions. It took me a minute to figure out that you have to unplug the ear buds before it will send the signal through the wire. SO MAKE SURE THAT YOU UNPLUG THE HEADPHONES FROM THE HEADPHONE JACK IF YOU WISH TO HAVE THIS DOCK CABLE TO WORK. I may be the only one who didn't know to do this at first, but, in case there is someone else who might get tripped up on this, I hope this helps you. Best Aux Cable for the ipod I've seen!
