Other Thoughts:
I enabled AHCI on my SATA controller in the BIOS which allows me to "hot swap" the attached drives. This is important only if you don't want to power down your system to safely add/remove drives under Windows XP and newer. Not sure about other operating systems.

This was exactly what I was looking for.....something to easily provide eSATA to my system. I was able to plug both connectors into on-board connectors that are located together (one in front of the other) on the board without issue (some other reviews mention not being able to do this but on my board it was fine). The cables are high quality as is the connector itself. This is not a flimsy tin add on made with phone wire. Well worth the money.Customer Review: Couldn't be easier

Installation took 3 minutes and it has worked flawlessly. I openned the computer case, installed the faceplate in an open card slot, and plugged into the empty SATA jacks on the motherboard of my Windows XP computer. I pluggged in a factory preformatted eSATA external drive, turned the computer on, assigned the drive a letter, and started transferring data. I transferred over 400 GB of data in a little over two hours. Fantastic!Customer Review: Well constructed with good support where cables meet bracket.

Reliability is expected to be high due to the stout support where cables meet bracket. Well attached means will take repeated flexing and not crack cable covering or snap wires inside. Hard drives get added and removed again all the time with my Acer Quad so cables get a lot of flexing. These are study cables so that mean also must be careful to slowly bend them. Guaranteed these will NOT flop around inside the case!Customer Review: It works...

I purchased this in combination with the StarTech eSATA USB to SATA External HDD Dock for Dual 2.5 or 3.5in Hard Drive...
The cables are long enough and the mount is of standard fair. The eSATA external cables connect with ease. I didn't have any issues with the connections both to the motherboard and externally to the docking station. Really easy to install... I would recommend this adaptor.
