Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cables To Go 13423 Serial ATA to External Serial ATA Dual Port Adapter (Nickel)Customer Review: Well made set of cables Summary: 5 Stars
Got a couple of spare internal SATA ports and no eSATA and want to use an eSATA device? Then you will need this. The cables are plenty long for most cases. The hardest part of installation is angling the plugs around the other cables in the case. Neither the plugs (internal side) nor sockets (external side) feel cheap or flimsy, they feel solid for years of use.
NOTE: Unless your system sees the internal SATA drives as removable, anything plugged into this will NOT be seen as a removable/hot-swappable device! This is not a problem with the cables, it's your system. Plan accordingly.
Customer Review: Well built and does the job Summary: 5 Stars
This product has a simple job to do, and it does it well. After reading mixed reviews of the less expensive adapters, I decided to order this one. I'm glad that I did. It works flawlessly, and it is well built. I don't usually find myself impressed by the build quality of computer cables (nor do I really care), but these caught my attention in a good way. The cables are sturdy yet flexible, and the connectors that attach to the internal SATA jacks have a real good feel to them. I like getting a quality product, and I'd recommend this adapter to anyone looking for one.
Customer Review: Full-profile, dual port faceplate Summary: 5 Stars
This is exactly as one would expect. 2 eSATA female ports screw-mounted to a nickel plated steel bracket for installation into any standard case card-slot opening. The inside has standard SATA (L-shaped) plugs for attaching to the motherboard or an add-in SATA card.
Use this to provide eSATA ports for external disks or arrays when USB just isn't fast enough.
NOTE: If using a 5-bay enclosure, make sure your card or motherboard supports port-multipliers. This is just a cable and will not provide any special logic support to your system.
Customer Review: Very easy to install, well made Summary: 5 Stars
Great product very easy to install. All you need is internal Sata ports and then you quickly connect the product to your computer and have two aditional esata external ports. You need activate in the Setup boot of your computer, but be very carefull y you have Raid configuration because you need special definition otherwise you can lost you data. If you do not have Raid then only put on your sat ports and ready to work. I have connected two 1 Terabyte Western Digital with esata ports to my computer and know it is flying on time response.
Customer Review: External connectors don't hold cables tightly, had to RMA. Summary: 3 Stars
After tearing my hair out for a couple of hours convinced that I had a failing hard drive, I discovered my real problem were the external connectors on the bracket. I found I could reproduce my hard drive "failure" problem by barely wiggling the cables plugged into them. The external connectors are too loose; they do not securely grip the cables plugged into them.
The bright side is that Cables To Go is RMAing this product and sending me a replacement without hassle.
