Customer Review: Helpful tip on an excellent product
Summary: 5 Stars

I received this item today in perfect condition. The quality is outstanding. Heavy duty construction all the way. Installation was a breeze and after a little common sense troubleshooting everything is working perfectly. There are no install instructions, thus my tips below.

Tip 1: Once you install the adapter and plug into your motherboard. Start the computer and enter into the BIOS setup area. Usually one of the "F" keys. Should be displayed on the screen how to enter. Go to the "drives" section. Follow the on screen instructions as to how to access each section. Under drives you will find your SATA controllers. Make sure the one you plugged into is "ON". Exit the setup area, saving changes. Let the computer finish booting then shut it down again. Plug your cable into the external port on the adapter then into your drive. Turn the drive on at the power switch (if it has one). Start the computer. The drive should be recognized and show up as the next available drive letter in my computer.

Tip 2: Because this is a bootable drive it can not be shut down while the computer is on w/o causing problems. I am going to look for a spin down utility from the vendor so I can stop the drives operation w/o tuning off the power switch. Will probably extend the life of the drive. If this is a problem try a drive with USB. USB is hot swapable so the drive can be turned on and off with the computer on. However, USB is a lot slower.

Hope this helps someone. I haven't had any problems yet but have only been using this item for a few days with a cavelry 1TB external hard drive.

Customer Review: Good quality but could be a little bit of hassle to install due to sata adapter size
Summary: 4 Stars

My package arrived on Friday and immediately I installed it thinking I would be able to hook up my external eSata drives. I found out that in my case one of the ports was defective.
Contacted Amazon and Amazon delivered one the next day (yes I got it on Saturday). I can say that I am VERY VERY IMPRESSED AND HAPPY with Amazon.
Had I bought this from Ebay or another online stores I bet I would be waiting at least another 3 or 4 days. Amazon also sent a UPS pickup to pick the defective item at no-cost to me.

The 2nd one I received is working perfectly and I am happy with the product. I guest they can't spend too much money to QA each item for product at this price, so I can understand
why sometimes there are some bad apples. Luckily Amazon came through in this case.

Pros:
- Pretty decent built quality. Metal and cables seem solid.
- the 2 ft cables are long enough and flexible to bend.

Cons:
- Due to the size of Sata end adapter which is a little thicker than usual (see the images other left on this product) you might need to rearrange your other SATA connections.
You can't stack these 2 one on top of another, at least in my Asus rampage formula motherboard.

Customer Review: Well built and works as designed
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading reviews on similar adapters, I went with this one from cables to go as it seemed to be a better made product and I am familiar with cables to go quality. I have very pleased with this purchase. Delivery from ANTOnline was within 3 days of order using standard shipping. The adapter is well built and works well with the Thermaltake BlacX eSATA Hard Drive USB Docking Station that I purchased to dock a Seagate 1.5TB 32MB SATA Bulk/OEM Hard Drive ST31500341AS. I have been very happy will all three purchases and believe I have a good backup solution for photos, videos and other important files (manual). For information purposes, this is a secondary backup to an internal backup drive in my PC (automated). I strongly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Plug and Play Expansion
Summary: 5 Stars

I was about ready to purchase an eSATA card when I came across this solution. After looking, I had 4 open SATA ports on my motherboard, so this was a great solution. Simply plugged the sata connectors into the ports on my motherboard, plugged my external drive in via the new eSATA ports, turned on the pc and was off an running. Couldn't get any simpler, and cost effective.

If you have open SATA ports, this is an easy, low cost way to expand your connections. I am averaging between 100 and 110 MB/s sustained transfer speed to my external drive. Compare that to USB2.0 which was averaging around 20 MB/s. Fantom G-Force 2 TB USB 2.0/eSATA Hard Drive GF2000EU

Customer Review: Well Made, Gets the Job Done
Summary: 5 Stars

I have no complaints about it. The internal cables are of ample length to reach my internal SATA connections. I like that it comes with two eSata ports, so I can use one and save one as a spare while only taking up one slot on the back of my PC. I bought an external cable with it, and I connected a Fantom GreenDrive. Previously, I had connected this drive using USB 2.0. I use this external drive as part of my HTPC setup, and it stores my collection of backed-up Blu-Rays and DVDs. All large file transfers are now about 3x faster, which is what I was looking for. I paid a bit extra to get this adapter, since the reviews for the cheaper ones indicate that they have questionable quality.
