I purchased this battery to replace the 6 cell battery in my Dell Inspiron 1300 - as it would only hold a charge for about 10 minutes, after 4 years of use. This item shipped within the promised time frame and arrived (surprisingly) fully charged. It powered my computer for a solid 6 hours, charged completely, and then gave me another 6 hours of use. The only (minor) issue I have is that the charge fault light (orange on my machine) flashes if I leave the battery in when fully charged and still have the plug in. It just serves as a reminder to me to either remove the battery until I want to go cordless or unplug the charging cord. Which I have read elsewhere is the current recommendation for preserving battery life anyway. The battery adds maybe a half pound of weight and lifts the back end of the computer up about an inch, but I agree with previous reviewers - this is a very small price to pay for the extended use time. Plus this seems to help the computer keep it's cool. I truly hope this battery's capacity lasts, but even if I have to buy a new battery every year it's worth it at this price.
