Customer Review: How to EXTEND your toner life!!!!

I spent so much $$$ on buying these toner cartridges but I just found a neat trick to extending your toner life. The printer is great but the toner light comes on way too early.
You can fix the problem by covering up the "sensor" on the toner cartridge with some white paper labels. There are lots of "how to" videos on youtube that you can find or you can go to [...] (that's the best one I found).

I have the MFC 7840W and love it. The toner thing was getting on my nerves, since it went low too early and as others have mentioned, you can't "shake and go" for longer life. Using the tip to cover the window on the right side of the cartridge with opaque tape, I have been through over 3 reams of paper and have put the fourth ream in earlier today, on that same cartridge that was at "end of toner life". I keep waiting for it to start fading, but it's still printing and printing and printing....Customer Review: NOT a Brother Brand Toner - this is a "compatible"

The description and some reviews led me to believe this was a brother-branded cartridge. It is definitely NOT!
Print quality is poor, toner flakes off the printed page, and I am seeing lines/streaking on all of my prints. I wasted my time and money for a sub-standard "compatible" (and I use that word loosely) toner cartridge.
Be careful - you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money here - spend a a bit more and buy a genuine cartridge

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND PAPER. IT PRINTED OK FOR THE FIRST 100 PAGES THEN VERY POOR QUALITY AFTER THAT.IT CREATES A LOT OF BLACK SPOTS AND LINES REGARDLESS HOW MUCH YOU CLEAN IT AS PER THEIR INSTRUCTION. NO STAR QUALITY AT ALL.I ORDERED ANOTHER ONE RIGHT AWAY SO I WILL NOT RUN OUT OF REPLACEMENT. What can I say. It works. It is expensive for not too many prints.
Oh, don't buy the freaking "high yield drum". I think it is intentionally misleading to label a drum as being "high yield" with a page count to confuse you so that you buy it instead of the toner cartridge.
Who in the right mind would buy a drum when the printer itself costs 50 bucks.
Anyway, Brothers is nice printer but the company hires crook salesmen.
