Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Brother TN360 High Yield Black Toner Cartridge

Customer Review: OEM product does the job
Summary: 5 Stars

Easy to purchase (good price and free Super Saver shipping) and easy to install. This product is the OEM version, not a generic version, and I have been using it for 10 months without a problem, from June 2010 through present, April 2011, in my Brother DCP-7040. I use my printer for black-and-white, one-sided laser copies for a lot of work that I bring home as well as personal tasks like printing coupons or email. I frequently print small items of 1-10 pages, rather than infrequent large items. I print some small images and rarely print large images. Tip: Don't use too much recycled paper to print because that's what damaged my first drum in the first place. I now make sure my paper is clean and has no prior ink on it.

Customer Review: Outstanding value / quality
Summary: 5 Stars

Brother printers and OEM toners provide outstanding value and quality. My wife began nursing school and had needed to print a lot of material. We found a great deal on a Brother laser printer. It is a good thing too! She prints so much we go through one of these every three months or so. The value and quality is amazing. We have calculated that in less than a year the printer had paid for itself over the inkjet we had been using. If you don't care about color images and have the need to print a lot of material in a home or small business environment, Brother printers and OEM toners are a great value. There is almost no advantage in a reman' or compatible toner when the prices are so low on these.

Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised for such an economical printer.
Summary: 5 Stars

We purchased our Brother printer Model HL-2140 at the advice of Jenny Martin on Southern Savers. She recommended the printer for the long lasting toner for us avid couponers.

We were amazed at the speed of the printer and even using grayscale mode we have legible coupons to use on our purchases.

We did have to order toner within a couple of weeks, but hope the cartridges we ordered will be much more long lasting, as Jenny Martin and others on her site say theirs have.

A very good feature of our purchase was the price. We didn't expect such good quality for the low price. We are truly enjoying using the printer with the new toner cartridge. Meme007

Customer Review: Not so "High Yield"
Summary: 3 Stars

While other "High Yield" toners by Brother such as TN570 and TN580 print more than 6,000 pages, TN360's capacity is only 2,600 pages. Each page will cost you 2 cents while TN570 and TN 580 less than 1 cent, excluding paper and depreciation of the printer. The similar calculation can be applied when you use recycle toners. The prices of recycled TN 570 and TN 580 are similar to those of recycled TN360, yet the former have twice as large printing capacity as the latter.

While HL-2140 and HL-2170w (printers using TN360) are cheap, the total running cost is not as low as they appear. If you print a large number of pages, I would recommend Brother HL-5370DW.

Customer Review: Works fine, but not enviro-friendly
Summary: 3 Stars

I can't complain about the quality of this toner, it works just fine and prints great. It's also easy to load.

Where it loses points is in its complete lack of recycling and refilling capability. I cannot find anyone in town who can refill it, and nobody can even recycle the plastic yet either. I called a local toner store, who said, we can't do either. So then I called our city recycling center who said "We can't recycle it, but call the toner shops and see if they can."

So, if you're into being green, this is currently not a toner you should consider. Unless you like throwing away a big hunk of plastic every few months.
