Customer Review: TONER LIFE END Workaround

Lately I had been getting some black smudges on printed sheets. After going through the manual it seemed cleaning the corona wires might do the trick (it did). However after putting everything back together I got the dreaded TONER LIFE END for all 3 of the color cartridges (yellow, cyan, magenta). I knew they were not empty since it worked fine yesterday and the printer says only about 1900 total pages have gone through the printer with 1600+ in color. I bought new carts but before putting them in looked for a way to reset the counters to get a little more out of the current ones I KNOW are not empty. After much searching and tips that didn't work I found one that did at [...] displaying-toner-life-end/. No more TONER LIFE END messages (which when you get it, nothing will print). The link talks about the HL-4050 model but I am using an HL-4070CDW and it worked. Hope this helps others.Customer Review: High Yield Toner Cartridge

I have used these toners before (the extended ones) from Brother and have never had a problem. But, for some reason, 50 sheets into this toner, it is weak on one side of the sheet. I don't know if there was a distribution of toner problem in the actual cartridge or what.Customer Review: Worked fine

This item is what is says it is and it works fine. If you have a Brother printer that this fits, you will need it some day. The high yield cartridge is a much better deal than the partial cartridges that come with the printer new.Customer Review: Set it to MONO!

I just purchased the Brother printer MFC-9840CDW. While searching around for toners, I came up on this review (tip) from another website:
"Toner is OEM and an excellent price. To those who don't understand printer technology:
1. Yes, color toners are used even printing black UNLESS you set on "Mono." You can change properties to color print at will.
2. ALL printers rate pages at 5% coverage or so. If you frequenly print full page color, you will suck toner very fast. Sorry== check the specs before buying any printer. "
