Customer Review: Very nice labeler for the money; uses TZ tape 1/4"-3/4"

This labeler gives you more versatility if you need varied widths of tape. You can only use the TZ tape, which is costly however this model accepts 1/4"-3/4" (four widths) has 6 type sizes, 9 type styles, 58 symbols, plus vertical AND horizontal printing. If you like the fancy features and playing with other colors of tape this is your model. There are 13 color combinations that I am aware of to spruce up your projects. I bought the AC adapter to reduce my need for batteries, though the batteries in my other P-touch machines lasted almost a year. I've had this one for years, and the only feature I long for is integration with my computer, it appears the PT-2100 is about $80. The other disadvantage to this model is its size; it is the largest of all varieties I have used.
If you don't need varied widths on the tape I recommend the Brother PT-80. It uses the "M" tape (1/2") instead of the "TZ" so you will save a bundle on tape if you are using a lot of it or are concerned with price. It honestly is a great value. You will have 1" of wasted tape with the "no margin" setting; this is unfortunately a feature Brother has chosen not to improve upon.
My employer has 10 of these and I have 2 at home. I have used them for years and think Brother has a great product. I especially like that you can remove the tape cartridges to change the color without any problems or malfunction.

With its large 15-character LCD display, the PT-1750 prints up to 2 lines, in 6 type sizes and 8 type styles, along with mirror printing, underlining and text framing features. Suited to your home/office label needs, the PT-1750 has a 15-character LCD display for easy editing, 48 built-in symbols and can print on 4 different label widths from 1/4" to 3/4".The Brother PT-1750 delivers both consistent quality and tremendous versatility. It uses the TZ series of label tape, which come in a variety of sizes and colors, all with a strong adhesive back and a virtually weatherproof laminated surface. On wider tapes, you can create two-line printing, or a single line up to 26-point text; all sizes of tape are ready for jazzy options such as underlining or framing.
With a sturdy keyboard, simple cassette-style tape cartridges, and an included tape-separating tool, the PT-1750 is a workhorse that's ready to go, right out of the box. It's designed for use either at home or in any office or retail setting.
