Customer Review: Innovative GPS mount that actually stays in place!

Overall, this product is great. Almost all GPS mounts use a suction cup, either stuck to the window or stuck to a dash mount, and my experience has been that the GPS is always falling with those mounts, so I was looking for something different. This product is great. It is heavy enough to stay in place, and it has slots all around to plug in the adaptor. It solved all of the problems I have had with other GPS mounts. The reason I gave it 4 stars in front of 5 is because there are 2 flaws: (1) the snaps that convert it from a carrying case to a GPS mount fall out really easily - I expect I may eventually have to replace them with velcro and (2) because of the angle, there is more glare than some other GPS mounts. But the GPS doesn't fall, so overall I'm happy with it! I have a Tom Tom, but it seems like it would fit most GPS units.Customer Review: No more sticky surface on my windshield!!

This product has been a great holder for my GPS. The only problems I have were I had some problem initially with the velcro glue. The issue was that I used the wrong velcro piece on my GPS. The other problem is that when I have my GPS hooked up to the charging adapter, the GPS is on a weird angle that makes it hard to see in the daylight. This only occurs when I have the GPS plugged in though.
The GPS holder has holes in the casing that allows you to hook up wires such as traffic wires, the charging adapter, etc. A nice GPS holder versus the standard one that you have to stick against your windshield. I have gone through 3 of the windshield GPS holders previously and I feel that this one works the best so far.

This product is a time-saving wonder: an excellent combination of carrying case and dash mount. Given the theft danger to gadgets such as GPS units, being able to easily store the GPS out of sight and avoiding the telltale sign of the suction cup for the typical dash mount are both postives. Added to that is the ease of setting it up for use and you've got a winner. The biggest downside is that the unit may slide on the dashboard if a sudden stop is required. The silicone potholder recommended by another user wasn't very helpful here.

This item is outstanding! Before we got the Nav-Pack weighted GPS Dash Mount/Carrying Case we had the GPS just sitting on the dash. It would go flying every time we made a slight turn. This not only replaces the need for the windshield suction mount which restricts the line of vision. It also keeps the GPS in a protected case when not in use so I don't have to worry about it being broken or harmed in any way. Now we just put the Nav-Pack on the dash with the GPS inside it and have no worries about it moving around and the windshield is clear. This is exactly what I was looking for to "mount" my GPS - very easy to use in the car and to remove and take with you or stow in the glove box.

I bought this case for storage and as a dashboard mount for a trip to California, where, I am advised, window mounts are prohibited. The case worked well as a dashboard mount on the 2 cars that I rented with very little slippage. All things being equal, I would have preferred a window mount for optimum visibility. My Magellan Roadmate 3000 fit perfectly in the case. I adjusted the Velcro attachment strips to retain access for my window mount. I had a small problem with the cord slipping out of the GPS, but this was a minor problem which occured mainly with my constantly removing the case from the dash when I left the car. This product is well worth the reduced price I paid for it.
