Customer Review: Solid Pad BUT Go 720 Needs New Mount
Summary: 5 Stars

This pad has been impressively stable on the dash of my car during 2 weeks of use. Caveat emptor: It's not compatible with the Go 720 right out-of-the-box. The sorry little OEM suction mount Tomtom provides is too short (and unreliable) for this or most other pads. But I don't think it's fair to hold this against this (or any other similar pad) for a design short-coming on Tomtom's part; it might be worth the money to buy a new solid after-market mount like the Arkon Mini mount that works just fine with this pad. Take a look at the product pics for more details.

PROS:
- Just chuck it on the dash and it stays put
- Easy to remove and hide from view while parked
- Heavy and stable

CONS (not really a negative but you should consider this point):
- Padding is thick and will BARELY accomodate a Go 720 when mounted on the OEM suction mount; consider purchasing the Arkon TTGO115 mount for the Go 720 for use with this (or similar) pad.

Customer Review: Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad
Summary: 5 Stars

Here's the deal: We have three cars a pontoon boat and a kayak. Moving our GPS from one vehicle to another or a boat has been a royal pain in the wrist as we snap and unsnap the window (deck) suction cup mount.

This device (Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad) has made our lives much simpler. We just unplug the unit from the cigarette lighter outlet and carry the pad to a another vehicle or boat and it is done. It stays in place when the idiot in front of us slams his breaks on for no apparent reason or the idiot behind the wheel of our vehicle takes a turn too quickly.

The great thing about this unit is that we do not have to mount the GPS on the windshield or dash board: We leave it on the console between the seats and it does not interfere with windshield visablity. Plus, my wife can just pick it up and sit it on her lap to change a destination or seek POI's, then place it back on the console.

Great invention.

Customer Review: Does exactly what is promised.
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this item for two reasons. The first is to have a place for my Mio C520 GPS. Vent mounts force me to take my eyes off the road and I don't like that.

The Nav-Mat holds the Mios steady and the Nav-Mat itself stays where I put it. It doesn't slide around when I accelerate, brake or turn.

Can't ask for more than that: it does what it promises to do. Just attach the suction cup of your GPS to the Nav-Mat platform, put it on your dash and you're ready to go.

Dismounts easily so you can stash your GPS out of site when you leave the car.

The second reason I bought the item was to take it with when I travel and rent a car at my destination. Scratch that. This thing is a lot bigger than I anticipated and doesn't pack well. Oh well, the secondary reason was a hope, not a deal killer.

On the whole though, the Nav-Mat does what it promises to do: provide a stable platform for your GPS.

Customer Review: Excellent product; works as advertised
Summary: 5 Stars

My dash, probably like many, has lots of curves and slopes and virtually no flat surface, so I needed something that would drape easily and stay in place for my new Magellan GPS. This product fit the bill. It stays in place on turns and with the occasional hard braking. The bean bag is a little stiff, meaning that it doesn't drape much on the dash curves, but it doesn't seem to matter. It stays put. I don't know if the bean bag absorbs any road shocks, or if my car's suspension is just good, but my GPS doesn't shake much when going over rough roads, and it's stays in place when I'm tapping at the screen. The GPS sticks easily to the center disc in the beanbag, and I can adjust it without the suction cup disengaging from the disc. A nice side benefit is just lifting the bean bag and the GPS off the dash when I park somewhere and putting the whole thing on the floor where it's more out of sight. All in all, a real handy product. I'd buy it again.

Customer Review: Not good for TomToms
Summary: 3 Stars

I probably should have returned this product after I tried to fit my TomTom in it. Oh well. I would have given this 1 star, but here's the deal. It does what it says it will! It WILL NOT MOVE when you have it on your dashboard. It's really incredible!

The downside is, it doesn't fit my TomTom's suction cup properly. It suctions fine, however, the neck of the TomTom holder isn't tall enough. You basically have to point the TomTom straight up- and how does that help you at all?! It's great if you have a little cubby (like I do) that you can jam the thing in with the product in it. That works, but otherwise- not so great.

If the product was a little less tall, I think my TomTom would fit just fine.

I don't know about other GPS's fitting- but I will admit- it's a neat product, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I forewarn- make sure it says it will properly fit your model before purchasing!
