Customer Review: Nav-Mat UFM100BL in a 2006 GMC Sierra pick-up
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this item at the time I bought my TomTom One XL. I tried to use the window suction cup that came with my TomTom OneXL for a couple of trips, but the suction cup kept coming loose from the windshield. I finally opened the Nav-Mat and am pretty well pleased with it, with one exception. The original suction cup and stem that came with the TomTom OneXL is too short to be used successfully in the Nav-Mat (the full circle one). I have since learned that they make the same unit in a semi circle with an open front. HDFMB-2: i.Trek V2 Open Front Heavy Duty Friction Mount Base for Garmin, TomTom, Magellan GPS Devices My OneXL will not seat properly in the full circle. The power cord installs underneath the GPS unit and rides on the ridge of the Nav-Mat. Sometimes the GPS slides out of its holder or the suction cup will come loose from the Nav-Mat. I don't blame this on the Nav-Mat, I should have check further before odering it. The Nav-mat itself is very stable and does not slide aroud. If you have a smaller, 3 or 3.5 inch GPS unit, this Nav-mat would probably be perfect for you.

Customer Review: Not for Tom Tom GO series
Summary: 3 Stars

The Bracketron Nav Mat measures 7.5" outside diameter, 4.5" interior diameter with a raised weighted ring standing 1.25" tall. In the center of the ring is a smooth plastic disc that your suction mount, included with your Navigation device, attaches. The Nav Mat is simple and appears that it would work nicely... if your mounting bracket fits; mine does not.
I purchased a Tom Tom GO730 and this dashmat after reading about the theft problem of navigation devices. I wanted something that I could remove from the dash and stash out of sight/temptation of thieves. The mat would work fine, however, the suction bracket that comes with the Tom Tom GO730 is to short. The only way it fits onto the Nav Mat is if it faces toward the auto ceiling ( not very practical ). Not really the fault of the Nav Mat but the fault of the tiny lightweight suction bracket supplied by Tom Tom.
I would be wary of purchasing this item for any Tom Tom GO series product as I believe the supplied suction mount is the same as the 730. Before purchasing this product make sure that when your navigation unit is mounted on it's suction bracket the bottom of the unit sits at least 1.5" above the base.

Customer Review: USED to work great...
Summary: 3 Stars

When I first got it, it was GREAT. With all of my wild turns, it never budged. Loved that I didnt have the tell-tale "come break into car and steal my GPS" ring on my windshield. I bragged about it, showed it to my friends and family. Overall, I was pretty happy with it. -- Fast forward a year and a half later... I was driving like I normally do (for me, braking during a turn is optional), and as I made a turn, my Nav-Mat flew off my dashboard. I pulled over to put it back on my dash and was very cautious on my next turn. Fell off again... Had to hold it everytime that i turned from then on. Needless to say, I don't use it very much anymore.

Now, I rarely kept it in my car other than when I actually used my GPS, so it wasnt like elemental wear and tear could have been much of a culprit. I also dont use dashboard shine sprays, so that isnt this issue. I just think it wore out on me. Thought about buying some grip shelf liner in black, but that would be such a cheapie thing to do. Plus for the price, it would have cost about the same as buying another Nav-Mat. All in all, I'd buy it again, but if you aren't prepared to purchase once every year or two, I'd say skip it.

Customer Review: Perfect hideaway mount for GPS Navigator Unit
Summary: 5 Stars

The Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad gave us a low-cost and very effective way of meeting our needs. My wife and I each like to have our Tom Tom ONE unit in different locations when we're driving, but we both prefer not to have it right under the windshield. That is because of the backlighting from the sky in the daytime, and light from the unit which interferes with forward visibility at night. The Tom Tom unit vacuum mount stuck firmly to the Bracketron, and enabled us to set the Bracketron, as each of us likes it, on the center console. It was very stable, even during hard turns and stops, and the GPS unit works well so long as it's far enough forward that the metal roof of the car doesn't block the GPS signals. It's convenient, when setting up or modifying a route, to temporarily move the mounted GPS unit to a more convenient spot, such as the passenger's lap, while entering information into the unit. When it's not in use, we store the GPS unit, still mounted on the Bracketron, out of sight in a console storage compartment. We are completely satisfied with this mount and recommend it to anyone as a really flexible and cost-effective mounting solution.

Customer Review: Problem Solver
Summary: 5 Stars

I was totally fed up of my Tom Tom dropping off my windshield while I was driving, despite ensuring the glass was clean, grease free etc. I saw this product featured in a magazine & then found it on Amazon & decided to give it a go, & I'm really glad I did! It is so simple to use, has completely solved the problem of my Tom Tom disappearing onto the floor while driving & I absolutely love it! It is a very simple idea, but it works! It is a heavy round solid "beanbag" type product with a recessed centre & a non slip base. You simply attach your normal windshield mount onto the back of your Tom Tom, but instead of attaching it to the windshield, you attach it to the disc in the centre of the mat - it even fits on when the power cable is attached. Then simply place the mat with your device attached onto your dashboard & away you go - mine hasn't moved an inch from where I placed it, even travelling around corners at speed or during sharp braking. What's more, I find the visability of the screen is much better, it's easy to unmount and leaves no tell tale sat nav "circles" on the windshield. I can't praise this product enough - it's certainly solved the problems I was having.
