I was pleased with how these speakers sounded: rich and crisp. I didn't mind how they look a bit big paired with my smallish 17" LCD monitor. Since I scored these speakers for only $30 with free shipping, I would have easily given them a five star rating ... if not for those extremely annoying buzzing sounds! A couple other reviewers suspected of wireless interference causing these speakers to buzz. Regardless of the cause, I now kept these speakers off except listening to music. These speakers are small yet give off a large sound, especially for the bass, given that it does not have a dedicated subwoofer. However, my main use for these is playing my iPod while I cook in the kitchen. I listen to rather mellow music for this purpose, and the vocals get muddled on these speakers. For this price, these speakers are a steal. But I wish I still had my JBL Duet speakers--those were cheaper than these, yet gave me the acoustic sound quality that these speakers struggle with.Customer Review: Best in the size class.

I purchased these to replace my old sony 2.1 system (subwoofer included), and the sound quality of these is a whole different class. They are killer speakers, quite attractive, and take up virtually no desk space. They are the crispest computer speakers I have ever heard, they have amazing response time, amazing treble and bass.
I couldn't be happier.
And a site note, through the Boston Acoustic site you can order colored grilles. Chili pepper grilles here I come.

purchased this for my son's dorm room. Four speakers which caused under $40 including shipping and handling these are a great deal.
The sound fidelity is very impressive. Granted his, it is weak on days but still quite good. The speakers can get high volume but not excessive.
The large transformer sits on the floor out of the way and is not an issue. By any standard, these are good computer speakers and for the Price there are exceptional.

Just got my set of MM220's today. I know these are no longer produced, but if you can find them, BUY them! I'm looking for another set now for my office at work. The sound is crystal clear, clean, sharp, and accurate. Plenty of power for a PC or MAC (I Prefer MAC), and the appearance is outstanding - much nicer to look at than Bose or Klipsch. This is the best value in multimedia speakers I've found and highly recommend them.
