Customer Review: Using for a Taylor Guitar Case Shoulder Strap and Hooks

I bought two Black Rapid Straps Fasten-R2 for R Series Straps. to use in combination with two Manfrotto 088LBP Adapter 1/4-Inch- 20 to 3/8-Inch with flange to add a shoulder strap Klein Tools Tool Bag Shoulder Strap Kit 5102S for 5102 & 5105 Canvas Bags to my Taylor Guitar case, similar to the Breedlove shoulder strap hooks. The combination of these items works great. I (fearfully and carefully) drilled two holes in the guitar case, inserted the adapter (screwing it in with a tight squeeze from the inside out) and then screwed the R2 Fastener from the outside onto the adapter through the hole creating a grip on the case between the two. The strap then hooks onto the R2.
The good:
1. The R2 seems very strong and the D-ring is wide enough to fit the shoulder strap hooks, which is not the case with the Black Rapid FastenR-3 Third Generation for R-Strap which seems to have such a small hole that not all hooks will work with it.
2. The rubber compresses as the fastener is tightened to create a tight fit to hold in place.
The weaknesses:
1. Still not sure how the D-ring will hold over time as they are multiple parts. A reviewer of the R3 said they knew of someone that the ring came apart. I am hopeful it is not the case with me.
